The Station: Test Drive

Welcome to the Station's Test Drive

Here, you will have the chance to try your character's voice out before apping them into the game. Feel free to play out in whatever means you would like - through the Station's communicators which are video and voice or either one alone, through action tags or prose, or whatever else you wish.

Please note that testing a character here does not guarantee that you have a reservation on that character. You may reserve a character HERE. Also note that this may be used as one of your samples for your application, though the mods may ask for more if what is provided is not considered sufficient. Finally, any thing played out on the test drive will not be considered character canon until after your character has woken up on the Station, as each character is given a unique scenario for their character's waking upon acceptance to the game.

Sebastian glanced up on his way past another hallway, on his way to the mess hall, and continued for another four or five steps before stopping. Slowly backing up. And leaning just a little to take another look down the hallway.

He should be used to this by now. Mordin, 'Vadum, Chiana. But this person-was it proper to use person for another species who's language may not even have the word person or anything similar he wondered deciding not to be rude and straightening up to walk up the hall and towards this new arrival.

"Excuse the interruption. May I help you find something? Or someone?"

Hangar - The Serenity

[personal profile] faithfixesyou 2014-01-28 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Shepherd Book pulls himself back to consciousness. He clenches his eyes tight to keep his head from swimming as he drags his body off the deck plates in what used to be his room on the Serenity. Used to be, because its the same room, but the few possessions he kept in here, even the bed he was laying on, seem to be missing.

"Hello?" Book heads out into the hallway, caution grows as he sees the other rooms seem to be just as deserted. The med bay looks like it's seen some use, but not nearly as fully stocked as it should be. His hand goes to his head for a moment, almost like he's remembering he has a headache. Not actually hurt. But something is very wrong, the ship more than him.

Book chooses not to call out again, instead makes his way down towards the already-open hatch of the ship. They're landed, no, docked. He steps away from the ship, looks around at the rest of the hangar. The Serenity isn't the only ship here. What is this place?

Penelope Garcia - Criminal Minds

Asleep. She must be asleep. They were investigating that super creepy psycho and she fell asleep on her keyboard. Any minute now she was going to wake up to the dulcet tones of Morgan teasing her about the imprint on her face. She might even forgive him if he brought her coffee and told her how brilliant she was.

There was clearly no other explanation for the fact that she appeared to be on some kind of ship that was definitely not current technology. "Hello?" Noticing what appeared to be a communicator on her wrist, she pushed the button and pulled a Buzz Lightyear, looking side to side as she whispered "There seems to be no sign of intelligent life anywhere."

Random Hallway

[personal profile] boobsofsteel 2014-02-24 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
A) [A scream bellows from one of small corridor hallways, a bellowing cry that sounds both feminine and monstrous all at once. The scream is followed by a pounding, something hard hitting metal, and then tearing it apart. The storage closet's door slams against the far wall and something comes tumbling out.

It's a woman, or at least it looks like one, barely dressed save for bits of what look like metal blades and armor that cover her up at strategic points. She lands on all fours, her bright red hair touching the floor as she pants for breath.

She looks up, taking stock of the situation before standing and running down the hallway. leaving gouges in the floor and walls as she goes.]

B) [Some time after this rampage, a different woman can be found in the hallways. She runs down the halls in a seeming panic, taking turns at random. Unlike the monster from before, this one is a bit more modestly dressed in jeans and an unbuttoned yellow polo shirt.]

Riko! Riko are you here? What is this place?

Aschara Rendes - OC

Her first order of business was to find an out-of-the-way corner and do some psionic reconnaissance; it was informative, though what it told her made no sense, and she came back to herself trembling with leftover anger and a hint of fear.

It could be worse -- this station had no ties to the Imperium, they were not hunting her or any of her people. And if the sense she'd gathered of the residents was correct, revealing herself would bring welcome.

But her people were gone. The transport she'd been on was gone. All of her subordinates, her people she had so meticulously trained -- all gone.

She needed more answers than a survey could give her. She needed to find someone and talk.

Fortunately, she knew where people were. So at a ground-eating, military-sharp stride, she set off for the closest conscious sense, intent on getting her answers.

Rose Tyler - Doctor Who

[personal profile] missrosetyler 2014-04-02 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Rose wandered around the mess hall looking rather confused as she was trying to make sense of all this. Her attention was drawn to the communicator dangling on her wrist like a charm. "Really odd." she murmured to herself. This wasn't how the cannon was supposed to work. At least with all the trials they had ran.

She gazed back at the space and called out. "Hello? Anyone around?"

Steve wanders the hallway wondering where he is. He hasn't seen anything like this before.

"Hello? Is anybody here?"

Docking Bay - Fueling/Supply Area | Jack

[personal profile] jackienaught 2014-05-24 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Waking up alone on the Normandy and finding nothing in her quick search was unnerving. There was no Collectors, no slavers, no sign of someone to tear apart for the disappearance of the rest of the crew. Lack of a target had done nothing but aggrivate her already bad temper and made her skin itch.

Thinking better of saying aboard the vessel, Jack kept to the shadows of the ships in the docking bay. No one payed enough damn attention to anything besides their own ships so it was easy enough to slip into the first area she found.

Her nose told her that there was fuel in this place, though she hasn't come across anything besides what looked like panels for something. She didn't really give a shit about the rest of what was here - hiding out with fuel probably meant that people were less likely to dick around and find her, not to mention the added bonus of being able to torch the place if some asshole got a dumb idea.

Worf | Star Trek: Next Generation

[personal profile] worfeffect 2014-05-30 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
"This is an outrage!"

More an explosion to himself than directed at anyone but the technology itself. Worf gave the consul a disdainful look, lip curling back as he tried once again to get it to behave and work. Wasn't technology here supposed to be better than what he'd come from? Such a miss-match that it made his head spin sometimes.

If it didn't shape up this time, he'd just dig into the wires itself and fix it. And wouldn't that just fix everything?

Aeryn Sun | Farscape

[personal profile] expeacekeeper 2014-07-17 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
In Aeryn's experience, waking up in a strange place with no memory of how she got there is never good. Waking up in a strange place without her pulse pistol, doubly so. She's clearly not on Moya, and not on Talyn, because this ship is clearly not a living structure. Of course, that's assuming it's a ship and not a base somewhere.

"John?" she says aloud. "Pilot? Anyone?" She touches the spot where her com should be, and of course, it's not. "Frell," she swears lowly. Then she hears someone coming down the corridor, and she quickly presses herself to the wall behind a support beam.

spacepeterpan: The Doctor is very confused (what is THIS?)

The Eleventh Doctor | Doctor Who

[personal profile] spacepeterpan 2014-07-19 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[The Eleventh Doctor strolls down aisles of the supply room, sonic screwdriver whirring away, green tip aglow as he waves it around at the various crates, clearly in search of something. He's quite wholly engrossed in the search--until he suddenly freezes, flicks the sonic out to its full extension, and stares at the side in disbelief with tinges of horror and disappointment.]

Self-sealing stem bolts? Why would anyone have so many self-sealing stem bolts?

[Eugh, the banality. No, this was clearly the wrong section altogether. Of course, he couldn't go and ask for help, especially at the cost of something to do... so he simply shakes his head in disbelief that anyone would stock anything so mundane, and soldiers on to the next aisle, sonic whirring.]

[Action] - The Serenity

[personal profile] causeimpretty 2014-07-20 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Kaylee's eyes fluttered open as they did after every nights sleep. Her eyes focused the ceiling of the engine room, once again she fell asleep by her baby. It looked the same as it always did but then again she didn't expect anything different. She stood from her hammock and stretched her arms gingerly.

Her eyes wandered over to the engine and she felt her face fall. What happened to her ship! It's like someone else had been taken care of her. She ran through the ship not able to find a single soul on board. Her mind raced as she reached the cargo bay and peeked out onto the larger ship before them. It was the hanger to a larger ship. "What is goin' on?"

Edna Mode | the Incredibles

[personal profile] fashionsbye 2014-07-21 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Edna walks quickly through the corridors, looking about with a frown on her face.]

No, no, this is all wrong, too flat, too brutal, too utilitarian, the sort of place a villain might call home perhaps, but definitely NOT my style.

[She calls out]

Hello!? Is anyone awake in this tin can? Have I been kidnapped or something? If so you shouldn't let your prisoners wander about, darling!

[ooc: hope this isn't appallingly late!]

Thor had expected to wake up in a state of very-much-not-wishing-to-wake-up. It'd been a long, exhaustingly entertaining night, which hadn't finished until well after the sun had risen; he knew that he would pay the price for it when he awoke and he was willing to do so.

He had the expected headache, yes. And the feel as though several of Earth's domesticated animals had shed large quantities of fur in his mouth.

However, he had expected to wake up in his own bed.

Instead, he found himself on the floor in a corner of a room that looked nothing whatsoever like his SHIELD quarters, or those allotted to him by Tony Stark. He rose, unsteady, a hand to his head. "Where is this?" he called, and instantly regretted it as pain lanced through his head.

He took stock. At least he still had Mjolnir, and yes, he still had the giant fluffy teddy bear slippers that Tony had for some reason seen fit to gift him with.
