The Station: Test Drive

Welcome to the Station's Test Drive
Here, you will have the chance to try your character's voice out before apping them into the game. Feel free to play out in whatever means you would like - through the Station's communicators which are video and voice or either one alone, through action tags or prose, or whatever else you wish.
Please note that testing a character here does not guarantee that you have a reservation on that character. You may reserve a character HERE. Also note that this may be used as one of your samples for your application, though the mods may ask for more if what is provided is not considered sufficient. Finally, any thing played out on the test drive will not be considered character canon until after your character has woken up on the Station, as each character is given a unique scenario for their character's waking upon acceptance to the game.

"Captain...military?"
[If so, Alex wanted to know what branch, and where from... He knew he was already pretty well enemy number one in the USA....]
"...Alex."
no subject
"Alex. You didn't wake up in any trouble or anything? Some people haven't exactly woken up in the safest situations." [Alex should count himself lucky he woke up with clothing.]
no subject
"Nope...I'm pretty good at getting myself out of trouble too."
[And getting himself in to trouble, although that also wasn't always his fault...]
"...Alex Mercer. We're on a space-station?"

"And we've got no idea how we got here?"
[Making it more of a statement than a question, and pacing a bit.]
"Is the station itself fully operational?"
[Offering a faint-half-smile of his own, rare dry humor showing through in the gesture.]
"I'm used to getting bad news. This is bad, but not the worst I've heard."
no subject
"As for fully operational, is every single section of the Station up? No. This place was mostly abandoned for a while, so some parts have fallen into disrepair. Are the parts that are going to keep us alive up? Yes. Life support, power, supplies, replicators, we're good. If you run into a locked door, don't force it open. The sections that are locked off, we can't guarantee that they have life support up."
no subject
"How many of us are there then? Any idea of a map, to know what is where for what's locked down?
no subject
[A few buttons bring up the map, and then an overlay of dots appears to give people's locations.] "We've got more than a dozen people on board, I keep losing track. Every time I catch up with everyone, more people show up." [A few whole sections of the map are darkened. Jack also brings up a specific part of the most active section, the one that Jack and Alex are in.]
"We're here...over there is the Gardens, it's a biodome that provides the oxygen and water filtration, but, well, it's not exactly safe, either, so don't go wandering in there."
no subject
"Not safe how? I'm somewhat used to taking care of myself, in dangerous situations."
no subject
[Jack anticipates the objection.] "I don't really like it, either, but, as I keep somehow mentioning, alien botany's not my specialty. Or anyone's on the Station so far, really."
no subject
[Never mind that yes, his curiosity was peaked. He hadn't promised NOT to try and explore--he'd just have to be careful to not damage anything. Much.]
"So we're trapped in dead space, with nothing around us...and our priority is what, exactly, besides staying alive?"
[Which wasn't a bad priority really, but sitting around doing nothing did not make Alex a happy man.]
