Welcome to the Station's Test Drive

Here, you will have the chance to try your character's voice out before apping them into the game. Feel free to play out in whatever means you would like - through the Station's communicators which are video and voice or either one alone, through action tags or prose, or whatever else you wish.

Please note that testing a character here does not guarantee that you have a reservation on that character. You may reserve a character HERE. Also note that this may be used as one of your samples for your application, though the mods may ask for more if what is provided is not considered sufficient. Finally, any thing played out on the test drive will not be considered character canon until after your character has woken up on the Station, as each character is given a unique scenario for their character's waking upon acceptance to the game.

There are a couple that are probably still safe to go to. There's lounges - I guess I'll find a room close to one? There's the mess hall. At least that one I can testify is still safe. We've found some other rooms across the Station but most of them haven't been used in so long it seems pointless. I found the remains of a pool in one huge room - a real pool! - but it was empty and the bottom coated in this black stuff and I wasn't going to waste our fresh water supply on that.

Not unsafe. I think. Just old and too big for just me and QT... he keeps the power core of the Station running.

This Station appears to require a skeleton crew greater than two. Were there originally more crew?

Um. [Pulled out of her thoughts.] Originally there were thousands on board. Two is all the Station's got left.

Don't know. Seems they got on a ship and left. Then the sensors, the logs, the everything on the ship went blank for over a a year before the Station just sort of... came back to life when we came.

[It's somewhat of a toss-up whether KOS-MOS' social programming will pick up on subtleties like that -- or whether it will motivate her to care. But in this instance, it seems to catch.]

Yes, I have. QT and I - he's the mechanic and well, other than you and I, the only other person on the whole Station - have been here. Just us.

[Her lips draw tight because it was partly a lie - there was a time were there were others as well.]

It's strange. Most things, we have more of than we know what to do with. This place is huge, meant to support thousands of people for a long time. But some basic things? I imagine they took them all. In the end it depends on what 'kind' of resources you're talking about.

Elaborate resources are not relevant when basic ones are insufficient. Your Station is not in good repair.

You misunderstand. This region of space does not appear to contain any of the UMN transfer points needed for me to return to the places I must go.

Whether or not I can leave the Station itself appears immaterial.

[Maybe some kind of transporter? But as far as she knew no transporter she knew of was safe for a Human, but then again KOS-MOS was a robot...]
