The Station: Test Drive

Welcome to the Station's Test Drive

Here, you will have the chance to try your character's voice out before apping them into the game. Feel free to play out in whatever means you would like - through the Station's communicators which are video and voice or either one alone, through action tags or prose, or whatever else you wish.

Please note that testing a character here does not guarantee that you have a reservation on that character. You may reserve a character HERE. Also note that this may be used as one of your samples for your application, though the mods may ask for more if what is provided is not considered sufficient. Finally, any thing played out on the test drive will not be considered character canon until after your character has woken up on the Station, as each character is given a unique scenario for their character's waking upon acceptance to the game.

[Sebastian stared at the offered hand far longer than was polite before he slowly pulled his own from his pocket and hesitantly shook it.

The man looked real, felt real, sounded real. He was warm, almost too warm. Or maybe his own hand was too cold.]

It's not strange. It's...not real.

[Not a surprising reaction. Bruce gives a firm shake of that hand.] Unfortunately... It is real. You are standing on the Station, year 3562. It.. Is all too true.

[He looks out the window.] We are in a patch of space with no stars, no... Well, not much of anything.

How can there be no stars?

[He's going to be sick.]

And what do you mean unfortunately? What's wrong with this place?

[It's too warm.]

This is not real!

[Sebastian shouted, slamming his hand against the glass, palm flat and fingers feeling slightly tingly and numb. It couldn't be real. It was fantastic. But not real. Because if it was real then his parents were dead and everything he knew was gone and he was stuck in a sardine can in space.

A part of space with no stars and somehow that was the most unsettling thing about this. Stars were the hope that they were not alone. This place made him feel very much alone. More than he had felt his entire life.]

[The strike makes him flinch in old reflex, but he tells his heart to calm. Instead He moves out and gestures lightly.] Please. Focus on me. Yes, you're here. We are working on a way to return to where we were taken from. I was also taken from my time and universe. This,,. Isn't a normal place.

I'm sorry.

[The apology is automatic, a reflex. Sebastian turned away from the window and pressed his back against the wall, fingers flexing at his side.]

Can I...I'm... [He tugged frantically at the scarf around his neck.]

[bruce steps closer, but not too close.] Young man. Focus. It's cool in here, with ole Ty of oxygen. You're safe. I won't hurt you. I don't even know your name.

[Nice, already flubbing this, Bruce.]

Oxygen. Oxygen is good.

[Oxygen was very good. Especially when they were in space where there wasn't any oxygen. Or stars. But there was a doctor and oxygen so it couldn't be all bad. Right?

Except he didn't feel right.]

I just...need to sit down. Is that okay Doctor Banner? May I?

[But he was already sliding to the floor.]

[Hell. Bruce is there, making sure that this young man does not pass out on him. His hands are warm but gentle, getting him with his back against the wall and head tilted very slightly back to make sure his airway stayed open.]

Slow breaths, young man. Don't hyper ventilate.

[Hyperventilating is exactly what happened the last time he received shocking news. And there was no doubt this was shocking. But losing Jack had been the worst moment of his life. Nothing could be worse than the day his world ended.

Not even this.

So he focused on his breathing, on the doctor's voice, on the fact that he was not dead and if he really thought about how amazing it was to be in this place, this time, he could almost be excited about it.

Almost.]

Seb-Sebastian.

Sebastian? Is that your name? [He stayed close, giving the young man something more to focus on than his dread.] While not the best way to meet, there are worse ways.

Are you injured? Sick? Hungry? We can remedy some of those immediately, or I'm willing to sit here with you in the lounge until you're ready.

[Breathe in. Breathe out.

There were worse ways. Doctor Bruce Banner could have been a three headed alien trying to eat him. Or one of those little alien things that pop out of your chest when you least expected it.

Sebastian gave the doctor a curious look. He was starting to think more clearly again now that he didn't quite feel like passing out or throwing up.]

You're not an alien in a human suit are you?
