The Station: Test Drive

Welcome to the Station's Test Drive
Here, you will have the chance to try your character's voice out before apping them into the game. Feel free to play out in whatever means you would like - through the Station's communicators which are video and voice or either one alone, through action tags or prose, or whatever else you wish.
Please note that testing a character here does not guarantee that you have a reservation on that character. You may reserve a character HERE. Also note that this may be used as one of your samples for your application, though the mods may ask for more if what is provided is not considered sufficient. Finally, any thing played out on the test drive will not be considered character canon until after your character has woken up on the Station, as each character is given a unique scenario for their character's waking upon acceptance to the game.

You're... trying to fix lights? [Well, now he just sounded amused. She was playing Handyman. Cute.]
It's not a bother. I just don't like finding a pair of legs sticking out of my baby and not know why.

[ She sounds somewhere between amused and embarrassed by the revelation. ]
They're pretty important for getting around the station in one piece, don't you think? Besides, I wanted to be useful. I hate sitting around on my hands and not doing anything if I think I can help with the problem.
[ She pauses again, then gives an understanding nod. ]
I can understand that. I wouldn't be too happy if someone were to suddenly start burrowing into the Normandy. Sorry--I should have asked first.

It does make it easier. I've gotten used to dealing with the dark, but I suppose it's safer, in the end.
[useful, huh? At least she was polite.] You're a mechanic? On your Normandy, I mean. You keep it running?
no subject
A mechanic? I guess so. Engineers is more the term I'd use, though. I don't just do mechanical systems, but also computers and programming. I help keep the Normandy running smoothly, when I'm aboard. I have other duties elsewhere, too.

Then I look forward to having you on board the station. Keeping her going can be a chore. I guess with more people showing up I need to actually look into fixing the real problems instead of working around them.

Oh, Keelah! I know all about working around problems. Some of the ships in the Flotilla are held together with prayers and engine tape half the time, it seems like.
no subject
I swear this entire bucket is held together with prayers, hope, tape and a lot of cussing. You fix one thing and something eats through another. We've got a space rat infestation on another floor, so... [a shrug. Space Rats are clearly the bane of his life while trying to keep this tub secure.]

[ She cocks her head to one side, then adds in a helpful tone: ]
I have a shotgun.
