The Station: Test Drive

Welcome to the Station's Test Drive

Here, you will have the chance to try your character's voice out before apping them into the game. Feel free to play out in whatever means you would like - through the Station's communicators which are video and voice or either one alone, through action tags or prose, or whatever else you wish.

Please note that testing a character here does not guarantee that you have a reservation on that character. You may reserve a character HERE. Also note that this may be used as one of your samples for your application, though the mods may ask for more if what is provided is not considered sufficient. Finally, any thing played out on the test drive will not be considered character canon until after your character has woken up on the Station, as each character is given a unique scenario for their character's waking upon acceptance to the game.

"Shepherd?" He repeats, it doesn't quite click with him. And he hasn't met the Shepherd on board the Station.

"I mean, that ship wasn't there earlier today. It just appeared, didn't fly in or dock or anything. And that's what has been happening to all of us." Nothing to hide, he is trying to look at Jack earnestly. She has to believe him, or she's going to fry him, and then, again, things get very bad. "We've just appeared on board, one by one. No way to get back home, yet. We're working on it."

"What, you haven't heard of the Queen of the Girl Scouts?"

She rolls her eyes and looks back at the Normandy. The idea of the ship without it's leader makes her feel small, alone and a million other things that make her want to flay flesh from bone. Folding her arms, she cocks an eyebrow at him and struts forward. Jack realizes she's close enough to grab him and makes an effort to keep her hands off his pretty neck.

"So, what now, Cap'n? What the fuck -" she drawls, her dark eyes flicking upward from his neck to meet his gaze. "- am I supposed to do with this bullshit?"

Jack recognizes the aggressive look in her glare, but he doesn't flinch or shift back, just because she's within arm's reach now. Calm. Don't treat her like a threat. Even if she is considering ripping out your jugular.

"The rest of us have been trying to find a way home. And working on keeping this place from falling out of the sky before we find it. Another working ship, if you'd be willing to run her, would be incredibly helpful. This area of space, it's unlike anything anyone on board has seen before. And we can only learn so much from one spot."

It's almost an offer for Jack (Oh, of all the names to accidentally double-up on). The thought of being able to do some good here has been enough to keep some of the other problematic people on board going.

Worf | Star Trek: Next Generation

[personal profile] worfeffect 2014-05-30 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
"This is an outrage!"

More an explosion to himself than directed at anyone but the technology itself. Worf gave the consul a disdainful look, lip curling back as he tried once again to get it to behave and work. Wasn't technology here supposed to be better than what he'd come from? Such a miss-match that it made his head spin sometimes.

If it didn't shape up this time, he'd just dig into the wires itself and fix it. And wouldn't that just fix everything?

Jack can hear Worf's voice from up the hall. While others would steer clear of a member of a warrior race obviously getting frustrated, Jack only grows closer.

"Having trouble?" He announces his presence before he appears, and shoots Worf a curious look at what he is working on.

[personal profile] commanderchekov 2014-05-30 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Are we going to slam our fist into the consul next?" Chekov challenged from behind. At first Chekov wasn't sure what to make of the newcomer. The fact that he was a Klingon...and that the Klingon was wearing an unrecognizable Starfleet uniform. He was hoping his mind was playing tricks, but when he approached him...he only realized that he was correct.

For now, he was going to play nice...until given reason. He had so many questions to ask and hopefully he would get answers along the way.

Trever has gotten away from his twin Kale and is now hovering a bit over around the corner watching him. Not at all creepy, stalker. Nope. When Worf yells, he skitters out a little.

"Can I take a look?" he asks, his Irish accent slightly thicker than normal.

Re: Worf | Star Trek: Next Generation

[personal profile] lessandmorethanhuman 2014-05-30 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
Well, he's certainly not subtle or quiet. Alex heard that just as he was walking down the hallways. An amused snort to himself, and he changes direction. Must be a newcomer.

And...yep--he's right. Huh, an alien. Great.

"Well, that's politest description of this whole situation I've ever heard." Sarcastic, leaning in the doorway, hands in his pockets and observing so far.

[personal profile] worfeffect 2014-05-30 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Just a bit loud. Oops? Worf visibly tried to reign in his temper, jaw working and grinding teeth. The works. He was been getting better at it, too. It wasn't really anyone's fault the machine wasn't working.

Right?

Didn't make much difference other than the fact it wasn't working. Finally, he gives Jack a bit of a sharp look. "I can manage." Probably. Without breaking it? That was the question.

A grimace and he looked away again, taking another visible step back. "Any suggestion would likely speed the process up."

[personal profile] worfeffect 2014-05-30 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes!" A combination of surprise and just further irritation and frustration.

Worf looked over his shoulder to toss a glare at whoever was interrupting him, only to blink in surprise. Almost recognition. It couldn't be...?

But the uniform and the pips. That accent. The face. He straightened away from the work station and turned, standing briefly at attention in deference to the senior officer uniform alone before relaxing somewhat.

"My...apologies, Commander." Words he hated saying, but served to placate those unused to his mannerisms.

[personal profile] worfeffect 2014-05-30 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
No, not at all a stalker. Worf knew he drew attention wherever he went. Between what he was and the fact he wore a Starfleet uniform. But even here he was stared at.

He cast a baleful look at Trever, then took a step away. "Fine." Sharper than people with a better hold on their temper might use, but he could be harsher.

[personal profile] worfeffect 2014-05-30 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Big, angry alien. Yep. Even with Starfleet's discipline training Worf had little explosions like this one.

He glared over his shoulder, though it was somewhat more exasperated now. Sarcasm, he got. Sometimes.

"What's the worst?"
reincarnshaman: (Happy grin)

[personal profile] reincarnshaman 2014-05-30 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
There's attention and then there's Hero Worship Squee attention that Trever seems to radiate.

His temper just bounces right off of Trever as he goes to look into the panel that Worf was trying to work on. Honestly, he's got no real clue what's going on there, he's not the engineer like his brother. But... he can still pretend.

Right?

"Cool."

Sorrrry about hiim

[personal profile] worfeffect 2014-05-30 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Neither of which he was entirely certain how to handle. For the moment, he just ignored it. Mostly. He might be a bit gruffer than before to counter any imagined embarrassment.

Worf stood stiffly, arms crossed and deep scowl as he watched intently. If he had to learn something, he'd pay attention. Until impatience won out.

"Well?"
reincarnshaman: (squint)

I'm sorry about Trever. XD

[personal profile] reincarnshaman 2014-05-30 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Hum..." Trever reached into the panel and did what Kale usually did which was to jigger and poke something.

Which is when it bursts into bright sparks and sends Trever tumbling backwards. He lets out a healthy stream of cursing in Irish.

XD He's lovely!

[personal profile] worfeffect 2014-05-30 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
That didn't look-

Worf threw up hands to protect himself from the sparks, a growl rumbling out. Then moved to check on the idiot child, though at least he managed not to say that particular description out loud.

"That is what we avoid," he grit out.

Don't startle him like that!
reincarnshaman: (Plain blank face)

He's an idiot. :D

[personal profile] reincarnshaman 2014-05-30 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Ow... [more cussing in Irish]," Trever.

"That was... ow..."

Which is part of his charm~

[personal profile] worfeffect 2014-05-30 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Worf almost gave in to the urge to shake Trever. Almost.

He straightened with another irritated glare, this time directed at the boy, and moved back to the consul.

"When you're done making the situation worse, get up and have the doctor look at you."

And if there wasn't a medical staff somewhere...
engineermage: (squint)

Have his twin now.

[personal profile] engineermage 2014-05-30 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh for fuck's sake, there you are!" And here comes Kale who looks just as pissed. "What did you just do?"

To Worf he says, "What did he do? Tell me he didn't try and fix something?"

Oh dear XD

[personal profile] worfeffect 2014-05-30 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
...There were two of them. Wonderful.

Worf stared at the new twin, wary clear in that narrowed grumpy gaze. "Yes, key word being try. He failed, miserably." Brutally honest Worf. Nice tact.
engineermage: (Plain blank face)

At least Kale's not a fan boy.

[personal profile] engineermage 2014-05-30 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Idiot," Kale growls and dopeslaps his brother.

"Ow..."

Kale appears to be completely oblivious to Worf in any sort of way beyond being a person. Then he turns to the thing the Klingon was working on and gives it a quick once over. "Of course he did. Give him an animal and he's fine. Machines? Pfft. Not even. You just... little bit of finesses here... come on there..."

Yup >D

[personal profile] worfeffect 2014-05-30 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
The new twin's reaction to him was far preferable.

Worf stepped aside again, though this time just a bit more reluctant. But at least Kale seemed more capable.

"So I see." So very grumpily. And yet the consul finally beeped to say it was finally running properly.

[personal profile] commanderchekov 2014-05-30 11:31 am (UTC)(link)
Well that was a reaction he wasn't expecting, only it helped support the fact that the Klingon really did work for Starfleet. He was simply going to have to accept that fact. Chekov gave a nod in recognition to the apology and went over to investigate the consul.

"Let's see what the issue is before we make it worse." He then opened up the panel, signaled for Worf to step back as he stepped back and waited for the sparks to die down before taking a closer look. The sparks diffidently weren't a good sign. Some wires probably were going to need to be replaced. He only hoped it was something minor to fix.

engineermage: (Smug Smug)

[personal profile] engineermage 2014-05-30 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"There you are." He patted the consul. "You just a crossed wire in the back there that was getting in the way of the power flow and an idiot trying to help you."

Kale points to himself. "I'm the mechanical genius and he," Trever gets pointed to, "Is an idiot. He's been like this around Chekov too. I'm hoping he gets over it soon."
lessandmorethanhuman: (Looking almost normal)

[personal profile] lessandmorethanhuman 2014-05-30 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Alex has seen worst, in terms of angry and big aliens. And non-aliens. And general things that want to try to eat and/or kill you. Just no aliens, before coming to the station, but the other aspects apply.

"Not sure. Depends on the situation and what's going wrong this time. I got brought here in the middle of some kind of zombie-invasion, so it was a same-shit, different-day kind of deal for me."
