Well that was a reaction he wasn't expecting, only it helped support the fact that the Klingon really did work for Starfleet. He was simply going to have to accept that fact. Chekov gave a nod in recognition to the apology and went over to investigate the consul.

He then opened up the panel, signaled for Worf to step back as he stepped back and waited for the sparks to die down before taking a closer look. The sparks diffidently weren't a good sign. Some wires probably were going to need to be replaced. He only hoped it was something minor to fix.
