[Event #9 - Wrap Up, Explanation, Feedback]
Hello Stationers! (Stationites? Which are we? Stationers doesn't come up as spelled wrong XD)
So! Here a little background info on how our last event played out:
I had a chart of the levels of egg, which was:
To make it progress towards hatching, all a player had to do was fuss with the egg and NOT send it off the screen. That was it. If you didn't play with it, or sent it off screen, it went back one level. Once it hit 'not return', you were out of the event.
Once it began to hatch, your character had to walk around and check on the egg each day. If you didn't walk, you didn't progress forward! That's why some of you sat on one level of it for a while! Hence my hints were 'GET OUT AND TALK TO SOMEONE'! ^_^
You could 'skip' stages by sending your egg across the network and having another character interact with your egg without sending it off screen. However, once it got to the hatching stage, that no longer could skip you a stage unless you tagged a great deal of 'walking' in one day's actions between several threads.
The noise each egg made was its distinctive Pokemon call! ^_^
One player got what this event was about early through paying attention to Gryf's comment about when she tried to hatch her egg early and received a glitch! Kudos to them!
Pokemon were determined pretty simply: there are 718 Pokemon not including mega evolutions. I didn't want to outright say pick between 1 and 1436 because well, OBVIOUS. So if anyone picked above 1436 I was going to subtract 64 then divide by 2. Anything over 718 got divided by two. Anything that landed in the 'new' pokemon, because many people have not played those games, I divided again by 2. (Hence Jack's pokemon) - If Jack had just left the 0 off, he would have gotten a dinosaur AND a pterodactyl!
You then got the lowest level evolution of the Pokemon you picked. XD
Gryf's number is related to myself but I won't say how (some of you who know me will know XD) while Bruce's number is the unofficial birthday of his Momma.
That's everything! Please let me know what you thought of this event! ^_^ It was quite a busy one for me, and I apologize if I missed something along the way but it seems those who were playing for a good ending got it. I hope the reward was enough but everyone seems to have gotten some good CR out of it!
So! Here a little background info on how our last event played out:
I had a chart of the levels of egg, which was:
- EGG DOES NOT RETURN
- Egg is dark and still
- Egg only slowly sways side to side
- (START!) Lightly glowing, lightly bouncy egg
- Egg is glowing brightly, bouncing is a bit more rapid
- Egg bounces happily and has a small music note as if it is 'singing'
- Egg has a crack in it, as if hatching!
- Egg's crack has become a little bigger!
- The egg sits still in the background with its shell open and a small box that reads "Choose a number between 1 and 1500."
- Repeating gif of the egg opening with the number 'XXXX' hovering
To make it progress towards hatching, all a player had to do was fuss with the egg and NOT send it off the screen. That was it. If you didn't play with it, or sent it off screen, it went back one level. Once it hit 'not return', you were out of the event.

You know me, I enjoy flying blind, so I had a good time with the hatching mechanic. Sad I missed the Aerodactyl, but Jack will see the humor in having a ghost, too.
Ten days may have been a little long, but some people did need that long to get the end result. I was feeling a little overwhelmed with all the threads, and I'm sorry if I ended up dropping a few. Overall, though, thumbs up for this event.
This was a massive amount of work on your part, so thank you so much for running it for us, I had a good time, at least.
