[Town Hall Meeting - Log]
Comms open up with an alert that none of you have heard before. It forces the line open to all comms, and even for those who are away from their comms, nearby built-in comms to the Station repeat the sound as well. After it stops, Gryf speaks.
"Everyone is required to meet in the lounge that is now marked on your comm's map. Now. I mean right now. And By Earth I will make sure you go if necessary. This is important -- way more than important. Things need to be discussed about what recently happened here and-"
There's a pause, a quietly audible swallow. It's clear what she says next isn't quite what she meant "-and we need to find out what we need to do to go forward here at the Station.
I expect everyone there in the next ten minutes, regardless of what you're doing. Move it." For many of you, it's the first time you've heard Gryf actually sound like the woman in charge she claims to be.
When you come into the lounge, it's one of the larger ones among the personal quarters. Gryf is sitting back on one of the couches, looking anxious as people file in. There are low couches, pillows, and other things as this is clearly meant as a place to gather and relax.
[ MEETING OPEN! ]
Steve: [enters, looking around]
Yuna: [Yuna shows up and sits at the corner of a couch placing a pillow on her lap. She waves to others as they enter.]
Twins: With Veena leading them, the twins meander in looking like they've been in a fight. Which they have. With each other. They've got some good bruises and cuts that'll not exactly leave a mark, but... stay a while. Being a cat, Veena oozes out onto a couch and manages to take up most of it.
Spider: [saunters in and takes a chair that looks like it will give him the best sight lines to the rest of the room. He has his cat with him.]
'Vadum:- It was not long before the eight foot tall armoured form of the Sangheili Shipmaster strode into the lounge. Sweeping his gaze about to any already gathered, dipping his head in greetings to Gryf and the others before moving to stand to one side where he can observe any others who enter.
Mordin: Mordin raises an eyebrow at the message and sets the communicator aside. He takes his time finishing what he was working on before finally heading over the gathering. He is on time, but he is certainly not the first and he doesn't seem apologetic about his timing.
Jeeves: Jeeves has, of course, been in the lounge this entire time. He has set up his wooden sign over by one end and is quietly polishing the glassware, an unassuming expression on his face. Moments later, he remembers something, and with a soft "ah." starts shoveling ice into a cocktail shaker.
Doctor: [Comes into the room, K9 in tow, and looks around to take in who is here before settling on the end of one of the couches.]
Smith: [Smith's as quiet as ever, slipping in and staying in the back. His sunglasses are down and all his recording devices are on. Best to keep all of this on record. To everyone else, he just stands there quiety.]
Garcia: [That sound was the one that Hotchner used when they were about to take on a particularly difficult case, so Garcia wasted no time in getting to the designated location. As ususal, dealing with people made her a bit nervous, so she took a corner and hoped not to be called on since she had very little idea of what was going on.]
Celena: It took a little longer for Celena to reach the meeting hall, as caught up as she'd been in her work. Yet the call for meeting did seem to be quite the serious one and as such had her quite curious. Thus still in her elven form as she had been thus far on the station. Setting herself in one of the seats near the back where she can observe everyone with interest, both those she had met and those she had yet to meet.
Loki: Despite not really caring for the others in this mundane place, ‘Sif’ heeds the call, knowing that if she didn’t, it would certainly be suspicious! She enters not at the end, but certainly not at the beginning before taking her own seat with a sort of pose that may look like she’s regarding her seat as a throne of sorts.
Fran: Fran comes in on her own after seeing and hearing the call, and takes a seat on the couch by a window where she can see everyone and the space outside. Hearing, for the Viera, wouldn’t be a problem.
Twins: Trever gives a wave to Garcia as he slumps onto the floor against the couch the cat has overtaken.
Alex: [Alex heads in and finds a spot where he can observe entry points and everyone else's position. Probably leaning against a wall.]
Spider: [Spider's cat notes the presence of Veena and tenses.]
Bruce: It takes Jack to get Bruce to come, even with Gryf's threat. He stays silent and close to Jack, but gives him a bit of a look when Jack goes closer to Gryf, where it would put him more on display, leaving him very nervous and refusing to meet anyone's eyes.
Garcia: She gives him a wave back and a slightly concerned look at the sight of the bruises. She lifts an eyebrow, implying that she expects an explination later.
Kale: Kale takes a position up on the other end of the cat overtake couch and pulls out something and a screwdriver to fiddle with. Meanwhile Veena ignores Spider's cat with the air of she's noticed him and is deliberately ignoring him.
Jack: Jack knows, on some level, what this is about. And as he was telling Bruce before, he has to face this. But Jack's point is that he doesn't have to face this alone. So, he is there with him. Just before they get to the room, Jack takes a tight, supportive grip on Bruce's hand. Without words, he just wants Bruce to know that he isn't going anywhere, and everyone else in the room to know exactly where his loyalties are right now. He walks in, glad to meet everyone's eyes, where Bruce can't, but briefly hesitates when he sees TWO twins sitting on the couch. What?
Steve: Steve tries to get Bruce to look at him, by being as reassuring as possible. He moves closer to the front
Doctor: [The Doctor looks at Jack with equal parts concern and relief.]
Harry: [Harry saunters in, looking recuperated, and immediately glares suspiciously at Sif. He saunters over to the bar and waves one finger. Jeeves nods and takes out an expensive sixty-year single malt and pours him a glass on the rocks. "Okay, maybe I've been watching too many Chandler movies, but when there's suddenly a vamp in the room, that means bad shit...actually, come to think of it, any movie except Kiss Me Deadly and that means bad shit."
Kale: Noticing Jack's look, Kale helpfully says, "I'm not undead. I don't think I'd be bruising as badly if I were undead."
Spider: [Spider sees Sif for the first time and looks her up and down with interest.]
Steve: Steve looks over at him. "We are all grateful for that."
Smith: [Kale's getting run thru all sorts of scans right now. Everything seems to be kosher. Odd. But Smith is relieved to see him.]
Jack: Jack shakes his head at Kale, and frowns deeply, crosses his arms. "No no. It's just. No offense. We know why I'm alive, again. Why are you?"
Chekov: [After recieving the message, Chekov reluctantly stopped working on his project and headed toward the meeting hall. On his way over, he slipped his uniform jacket on, having taken it off while working. He was rather curious to see what this meeting was all about. Not to mention this would probably be his first time seeing everyone. He gave a quick gaze over everyone as he stepped into the room before choosing to leaning against a wall.]
Loki: Sif doesn’t seem to notice Harry’s suspicious glare, but even if she did, would she care? Hardly. It wasn’t as though the mortal knew anything, and as far as she was concerned, no one in the room could put any blame to her. She was in a lounge when this all started, and at the TARDIS when the Hulk came free. With a look of boredom, she moved her hair over one shoulder to the other and crossed her arms over her chest. Why was this called again?
Kale: "Fuck all if I know," Kale says cheerfully. "I didn't even know I was dead until everyone told me I was."
Garcia: Garcia gave an extremely relieved look when she realized that both Celena and Chekov were alive and well. She had been more than slightly out of the loop, and it was good to know that nothing had happened to her family away from family.
Trever: Trever rolls his eyes. The twins seem to be taking Kale being back from the dead in stride. Beyond the inital fight, at least.
Doctor: Doc's head swivels over to Kale. "Dead? How much did I miss? Wait, don't answer that..."
Mordin: Mordin keeps to edge of the gathering, observing everyone and occasionally consulting his omnitool for various reasons. Mostly he's just making sure no anomalies occur.
Garcia: "Could you try to avoid that in the future, then?" she teased Kale. "We have no idea if it would work for a repeat performance."
Steve: How are you back? If you don't mind my asking
Fran: Fran straightened up to see everyone else in the room, noting some new faces among the group. Spider was here, and Fran felt the embarrassment of her past behavior the last time they met, even if that was when she had been leeched.
Celena: Celena casts an easy smile across to Garcia, glad to see her even if she hadn't the chance to speak with her.
Gryf: Gryf clears her throat to get everyone's attention, looking around the room to everyone but her expression turns uncertain at Bruce. Then, to the room, "Two people were killed in less than twenty-four hours of each other. ...One we know what happened. The other... we don't. There is a murderer among us, one smart enough to know how to kill where even I can't see."
Mordin: "Autopsy made it clear that it was a sneak attack. Loss of finger was likely a defensive wound after initial attack. Heart removed to send message, most likely. Suspect that murderer knows Doctor Banner personally."
Steve: Steve is carefully watching everyone in the room, but staying silent for now
Trever: "Killing where you can't see doesn't take really all that much smarts," Trever says. "It's kinda obvoius. Any one with half a brain could do that."
Spider: [Spider straightens up, his face brightening. Double Murder!] "Finally something interesting happens, and nobody tells me?! I'm more than a little disappointed..."
Yuna: Yuna wasn't sure what to say. The images of when she found Jack still vividly came to mind. Her fingers gripped the pillow more tightly as she listened.
Jeeves: Someone clears his throat from the back of the room. "If I may," Jeeves says, "Far be it from me to intrude on matters criminological, but..." He turns to the Doctor and smiles politely, "Might I indulge my inner Chesterton for a few brief moments, sir?"
Smith: [Have a frown in your direction, Spider.]
Gryf: Spider gets such a look for that statement from Gryf.
Jack: "If you missed the memo," Jack raises his hand. "I died. Again. Sorry about that. Except it was pretty damn intentional this time. I don't remember what happened, and, like Gryf said, it happened in the one place that nobody can see, in the Center Section. I am already beginning to investigate what happened, along with Mr. Lockhart," Jack gestures to Harry. "So, if we come to you, asking questions about anything you know, we would appreciate your cooperation."
Garcia: It was in her nature to be analytical when it came to murder cases, so Garcia was taking everything in as they went over details. It wasn't her usual debriefing, but it would have to do. "But who would have the motive to do that?"
Loki: Sif’s eyes grow a little wide at the report, then she looks at Spider with a look of disgust. “What a terrible thing to say. Have you no common decency?”
Steve: Steve looks over at him. "You find Murder interesting?"
Trever: "It's true. It's well known that Gryf can see pretty much everywhere in the station except in the center. So if I was going to try and not be noticed, I'd kill someone there."
Doctor: "Hmm? Oh yes, go ahead."
Jeeves: Jeeves clasps his hands behind his back and walks out from behind the bar
Spider: Spider: "Decency, my dear lady, is anything but common where I come from. And yes, anything which breaks the monotony is interesting. Just don't conflate 'interesting' with 'good,' mind you; the Chinese never did."
'Vadum: 'Vadum crosses his arms and inclines his head to Mordin's analysis, "I can concur with Mordin's findings from my analysis of the scene, there was no evidence to as struggle and indeed, it appears that who ever perpetrated this murder had knowledge of Doctor Banner"
Jack: "Now, if anybody knows what happened, if it turns out that there is some kind of explanation for this, then just tell me privately. I'm willing to be reasonable, if it turns out this was an accident, or a misunderstanding." He looks seriously around at everyone, sweeping his gaze across the room. "Given the other things that happened,it doesn't look like there is an easy explanation other than someone being a murderer."
Fran: Fran looks calm, having seen her own share of murders before, but this…this was different. Unnerving, even. Even after her personal talk with Jack, she still wondered if anyone thought of her as a suspect. She couldn’t even go into the Center Section without being effected by whatever was down there.
Trever: Trever was really not helping himself here. "Again. Who has the motive to want to kill you, Mr...?" she directed her question at Jack.
Gryf: Gryf looks towards Trever with a frown. Why is he speaking like someone who had been thinking about planning a murder? It's unsettling.
Bruce: Bruce sits in silence, fingers clenching lightly at his side. He does give Jack a look at the 'misunderstanding' part. Bruce: REALLY, Jack?
Loki: Sif had no idea who the Chinese were, and despite the sour expression on her face, her inward emotions were absolutely gleed at finding someone else that found chaos just as interesting.
Smith: [Smith blinks behind his sunglasses.] "Misunderstanding"? I sincerely doubt that.
Trever: Mostly because this was Trever's day job. That's why he was thinking like this.
Alex: Alex is just keeping quiet, watching everyone and observing.
Jeeves: "It is clear from the pattern of attack that the murderer would be somewhat savage. That two murders in such a small time frame indicates that this is someone brazen. I might even say narcissistic." He pauses, "This is someone who has been here for quite some time, as they clearly knew enough to cause the chaos and orchestrate the attacks. But...there is a touch of brazenness to the whole...I do not know that any of us are particularly brazen save for Mr. Jerusalem, who would *ahem* attack from the front, and with great verve and invective. And so, ladies and gentlemen, we are looking for someone not of great courage, but of great self-opinion, alas without any firm grounding in that opinion." Jeeves concludes;
Kale: Kale raises his hand. "Am I the second murder?"
Alex: Alex raised an eyebrow. "I think you were less overtly murder than accidental manslaughter, Kale. But I could be wrong."
Spider: "Hey now, I don't hate anyone here enough to kill them. All the people I've killed were in self-defense. They had it coming."
Garcia: "Was there anything in the pattern of the murders to suggest that they were committed by the same unsub?"
Celena: Celena's own expression remains calm for the moment, taking in the conversation as it plays out as she watches everyone in the room. Noting each and every aspect of how everyone was reacting to the situation at hand as the conversation plays out.
Smith: "Mordin said the heart was removed. That's hardly self-defense."
Yuna: Yuna shakes her head a little before looking up at the group. "It was hate. That's the only way.... that someone could do that."
Spider: "My point exactly."
Steve: No, you were not.
Gryf: Yes,you are, Kale.
Kale: "Sounds more like ritual sacrifice to me. Carrey had his fan girls do that," Kale says. "Kill the person and then use the energy from the death to power something else."
Harry: [Harry steps forward and puts a pen in his mouth, then takes it out] Okay, so Spider's out of the picture, and I'm hearing both murders were by a blade? Some kind of a knife?
Mordin: Mordin nods, "Implies murderer had something against victim. However, had rare opportunity to interview victim. Cannot determine any likely suspects specifically out to punish Captain Harkness."
Harry: [Harry turns to Mordin] Oh really? [He turns to Jack] Hey, ballpark figure, how many people on this station have you jumped? Round up if you need to.
Jack: Jack actually ponders for second, holds up two and a half fingers.
Steve: "What does that have to do with anything?"
Bruce: Bruce twitches at Harry's question a little, looks at Jack's hand, then mouths 'and a half?'.
Fran: Fran raised a brow. “I would not think that Jack would behave in a manner to deserve a sort of punishment.”
Garcia: "If there's video surveillance of the center section, I can go over it to see who comes and goes. Even if you can't see inside, it would give you a good idea of who it might be based on who went in and left."
'Vadum: "The center section is a black out zone, no surveillance works within its area,"
Doctor: [stands up] "Excuse me, but if I might be so bold? Captain Harkness, you are one of those rare murder victims who has stopped being a murder victim. Forgive me if this was asked before, but... did you *see* who attacked you?"
Harry: [Harry turns to Steve] Because one, jealousy is a bitch, and two, that kind of thing could lead to revenge. Especially if they're the kind of person-- [He looks at Jack] Person?
Steve: [listens and nods, showing that he has heard Harry]
Garcia: "You don't have cameras around it that point in that direction?" Her tone was somewhat incredulous. That was something that needed to be immediately fixed if she didn't have cameras pointed to the entrances of that exit as close as they could be and still work.
Loki: Sif looked to Gryf. “How can there be no power there? I do not understand that, if there is power everywhere else?” Might as well put out some feelers into how the Station works with it’s Midgardian technology. She actually looks a little bewildered at no power being in the Center Section.
Smith: "No cameras in the center hub. They don't work. No power does."
Kale: Kale leans over to Trever and mutters, "We need a good truth spell around now."
Jack: Jack frowns at the Doctor's question. "I don't remember what happened." You try getting your heart cut out while you're still alive and see how much you remember about the incident. To Harry, he shrugs. "People, yeah."
Harry: [Harry waves it off and continues] Who sees a one-night stand and then thinks "I'm in love". Actually...actually, I've done that before. But I don't have a knife.
Harry: [He looks back at Jack] And good for you for doing that. Never meet my boss.
Gryf: "Nothing works there. At all. Nothing electrical or technological. It just... cuts off. It's not that I don't have cameras there." Gryf actually glares a little at Garcia for the statement.
Trever: Trever shrugs. "But we could set up cameras around the areas into the centers. Right before the dead zone."
Smith: "I had had left an entry on the comm recently. I had been investigating it with Jack. I believe the area sits outside the time stream. Yes, we could."
Doctor: [Doc looks hurt. Fine Jack, be that way...]
Yuna: Yuna looks over curiously. "Would magic work in the center section?"
Loki: Now Sif’s attention turns to Smith. “Time stream?” Keep looking interested, and perhaps they won’t suspect anything.
Harry: "I can confirm that," a loud voice calls from the doorway. "Since I was in there for...what, two weeks?"
Smith: "I can get into my findings again, but later. We've got more pressing matters."
Garcia: She holds up her hands in a "no offense" gesture. "That's what I meant, Trever."
Mordin: "Had interesting findings examining Captain Harkness' corpse. Was delayed in getting there due to Hulk. Body was still warm. Blood had not coagulated. Comparing to other findings, suspect good support for some sort of temporal anomaly in central section."
Fran: Fran looks to Yuna. “Maybe a Time Magic spell could help in that section?”
Crichton: Crichton walks into the room. "Felt like two weeks anyway. I don't know what a coma less'n one week feels like."
Doctor: [Doc's ears perk up at the mention of "Time Magic Spell."]
Twins: "But we do know that time passes there somewhat slowly, because there are skeletons in the center section."
Yuna: Yuna nods to Fran. "Yes, or I can see about setting up a sphere. Either might be helpful."
Jack: Jack smiles at Crichton, glad to see he's okay. "One week. How are you doing?"
Spider: [At least half of this is going over Spider's head, so he goes back to looking at the hotness that is Sif.]
Celena: Celena's interest perks at the discussion of magic in regard to the center section, "I have been meaning to look into the area, I have a few ideas of my own on the magic side of things, however they may be best saved until after this,"
Kale: "Yuna, Celena and I should probably chat later," Kale says.
Yuna: Yuna nods at Celena, "I have things I wanted to look into as well."
Fran: Fran looks between the other two women and makes a small nod of her head. “If there is anything I may down outside the area, I am willing.”
'Vadum: 'Vadum inclines his head to Crichton though doesn't say anything, last he had seen the human was when he had diverted the Hulk's attention from him to give him the chance to get free.
Chekov: "Could I investigate as well?" Chekov chimed in finding the conversation dealing with the center of the Station more to his interest. He glanced over at Celena. This was something that he could help with more then the actual investigation of the murder. He was rather intrigued to why nothing worked in the center of the Station.
Bruce: Gryf holds up her hands and whistles sharply. "STOP. FOCUS." She looks more than a bit annoyed, a bit frustrated. "Right now, the mystery at the center of the Station can wait while we focus on the fact that someone got killed there! Because of that, someone else was killed." She gestures around the room to everyone there.
"One of you is a murderer. I've watched the footage from every camera that leads into the center section. The only thing I see at all is Jack running in there with no one else." With a hard look at Garcia and Sif for suggesting she might be off her game on that.
"I checked all of the comm chatter, too. I can tell you why he went running in there, at least." She leans forward, chewing on in the inside of her lip before saying, "there is a single, corrupted message that was sent to his comm. One so corrupted I can't believe it made it to his comm, and I can't trace it back to its source. Someone did this, very deliberately."
Kale: Kale waggles his fingers. "If you'd like I can talk to people's comms and see whose sent the message."
Crichton: Crichton shrugs. "Head still rings a little if I move it too fast, but I've been worse."
Yuna: The tension in Yuna's shoulders returned. She was enjoying the distraction from the problem at hand. She had no idea who could have done it and the idea that it was someone on board frightened her.
Steve: I am assuming that everyone has an alibi? [looks around]
Fran: Fran glanced at various people seated in the lounge, and spoke up once more. “We’ve no leads then to who it is?”
Jeeves: Jeeves walks over to Yuna and hands her a glass. "I believe this might help, miss." The glass is some kind of coffee and milk concoction with a little bite.
Mordin: Mordin is used to the idea of people dying. He was a soldier and he ran a free clinic in the slums of Omega. He's not pleased about having a murderer present, but he worries more about not knowing who it is. He's kept worse company than simple killers. He simply frowns and listens.
Yuna: Yuna takes the glas and sips not even worrying about what was inside. It was something to focuse on.
Bruce: Bruce's voice is soft. "...more than deliberately. I came back to my room with a box with a note on it, taunting me and telling me exactly who's heart was in the box." Which led to the Hulk, but he won't say that out loud.
Harry: [Harry speaks up again] I have a few leads. A few angles. Y'know. The usual. [He's frightened out of his wits and trying to hide it] And I always like to talk about the murders right in front of the possible murderers. No one's ever gotten shot doing that.
Steve: I brought the heart to Mordin
Harry: Or stabbed. Or decapitated. Have I mentioned I like being alive?
Jack: Jack nods at Crichton, "Can we have a word, later?" His brow furrows, but he shakes his head. He doesn't remember the message at all. "We are working on the alibi part. With Gryf's permission," he gestures to Gryf. "I'd like to look over the *rest* of the surveillance footage. All the parts outside of the center, during the time where Mordin is sure I had to have died. If I have to figure this out by eliminating everyone else, then that's the way to go." He very quietly reaches back for Bruce's hand again, at his words, just a reassurance that he's still here.
Alex: Alex is just glad they're getting back on topic.
Smith: [Smith shakes his head, disgusted. He directs his question to Bruce.] "Perhaps we shou;dn't be asking who Jack's enemies are. What about you?
Garcia: "I'm willing to help pour over footage to help find out who did this." It was just another day in the office for her, and she was bored from so much bed rest after her arrival on the station. It would lead them back to square one if everyone had an alibi, but it would be a step in a positive direction.
Smith: As am I.
Steve: [Tenses slightly at Smith's question]
Crichton: Crichton nods. "We can...I think we should look at the new people, though. Any one of th--" He notices Chekov. "Oh frel me dead."
Veena: Veena stretches off the couch and vanishes. She then reappears and starts prowling around at people's ankles.
Doctor: [eyes go wide] "So whoever did this wanted to..." [he stops, not wanting to reveal Bruce].
'Vadum: 'Vadum regards the room, then inclines his head to Gryf, "I shall assist in any way that I am able,"
Bruce: Bruce tenses just as much and he flexes his fingers slightly before his head turns and he looks right at the Doctor. "There's only one person who I could consider an enemy on the Station... or who considers me one, more like."
Trever: "Why the new people? They have the least reason to kill Jack," Trever says. "They don't know him or Bruce."
Morin: Mordin glances at Trever, "Always chanice of psychosis. Homocidal tendancies."
Trever: "Yeah, but again that could be any of us."
Steve: [Stares]
Doctor: [Doc stares back at Bruce with a look that says "do you really want to do this here?"]
Jack: "Um." No, Jack does not want things to kick back up between Bruce and the Doctor, come on, you two were at least at a cease fire. So, time to share his suspicions. "There is always John..."
Garcia: She's been watching Crichton as he spoke. "Frel?!? I KNEW IT! You're Crichton! Ha! I love that show!" Yep. She's definitely still dreaming, and this is confirmation.
Loki: A part of Sif’s mind perks up at the mention of John, and it seems Fran pays a little bit more attention to the Hume as well.
Smith: [...just gonna stare confused at Garcia now]
Bruce: Bruce just looks back with a look of, 'you threw me out an air lock because of Inara.'
Loki: Sif and Fran both look at Garcia, just as confused as Smith.
Steve: [gets no pop culture reference at all, so he is confused as well]
Alex: They were getting off topic again. Great. "So John, who I don't think would hide his murder--or rather, I doubt he'd target Bruce the way he did... or who else?" Time to try and get this back on track
Celena: Celena ponders and nods, before looking to Gryf, "You say no one else appeared on the camera's prior to Jack entering the center area? That would give rise to a number of possibilities as to how that may further narrow the field. Curious, do the camera's have thermal imaging?" Celena taps her chin.
Trever: Trever watches Veena prowl around people's ankles intently.
Gryf: Gryf stares in confusion at Garcia, then back to the Doctor and Bruce. "But the Doctor wouldn't kill Jack," she says quietly, but then again, is she wrong?
Crichton: "Whoa-whoa-whoa...HANG ON. HANG THE HELL ON!" Crichton looks at Garcia. "Wh...You know me?! Isn't that supposed ta be my schtick with everyone? I'm in a Scarran-induced coma or something, right? And that's why I'm seeing people like the big green guy and Chekov?"
Jack: Jack folds his arms and sighs deeply, and starts counting off on his fingers. "John Hart. Has killed me before in a jealous rage? Check. Already knew I was immortal, so probably thought nothing of killing me? Check. Capable of cutting my heart out and leaving it for someone else to find? Mega-check." He shakes his head. "Except that it doesn't make SENSE. He's changed, it had looked like he was actually trying to do better. And he's a reminder that I'm just as capable of doing the same thing. So I don't know. This is part of why I want to look into everyone...but my top suspect? Yeah."
Jack: "And, most notably?" Jack makes an exaggerated sweep of the room. "Not. Here."
Smith: [Smith nods.] He's also conveniently absent, yes.
Spider: "Yeah, I was just going to ask about that..."
Alex: "I personally still think you shouldn't discount that it was done with the idea you'd be back." Alex countered. He still felt assuming that, was a wrong tack for Jack to take.
Smith: [He could do a scan and find out where John was on board, up to GM discretion.]
Loki: Sif looked to Jack with some disbelief, and some interest. “From my own experiences in Vanaheimr, those that get better…are prone to relapses. And you are right, he’s not here. That’s suspicious enough.”
Yuna: Yuna looks around the room confused. "He has always been nice when I have spoke to him."
Gryf: Gryf brushes her hair back and closes her eyes for a second, then sighs sharply. "The idiot is still asleep, right through my alert. He's in his quarters."
Trever: Trever waves an annoyed hand. "I don't think it was John. It's not his style."
Doctor: "But why would he want to kill you here and now? And then why would he hide knowing that he could easily be found?"
Garcia: Garcia is completely oblivious to the tension between Bruce and the Doctor as she fangirls over Crichton. "No! You're totally on a show on Sci-fi called Farscape!" She slowly brings herself back to the room. Now is really not the time, though she will be seeking him out in the near future.
Spider: "We're forgetting another very important question here, folks. Not who, but WHY? What was their reason, and what would they hope to gain from it? Find that out, and we have a better bead on who it was."
Jack: "Not his style!?" Jack cries out in disbelief. "You haven't seen what this man is capable of. You really think he did this while thinking it through!? No, thinking it through beforehand, *That's* not his style! He is responsible for me dying more times than *anyone* else on board." A significant look at the Doctor when he says that. "Did he realize I was-" Jack finally cuts imself off. No, no need to get too worked up.
Chekov: Chekov raised an eyebrow both at Garcia and Crichton and simply shook his head. Were they really going to be discussing this right now? When they were already having a hard time focusing on the subject at hand.
Steve: Easy Jack.
Kale: "And yet you just said you don't think it was him."
Fran: Fran looked to Spider. “Some Humes let themselves be ruled by emotion. Perhaps John was jealous of Jack and Bruce.” A small shrug. She had seen what infatuation and one-sided affection could do to Humes in Ivalice.
Garcia: "If he's not the sort to think things through, then it probably wasn't him. Especially not if he's killed repeatedly before. Unsubs perfect their killing methods, but they don't completely change them without good reason."
Celena: Celena ponders a further moment before regarding Gryf, "You have camera's throughout the station correct? What of the location that the heart was delivered, was there any sign of when or by whom it was delivered? That area is outside of the blind spot after all."
Doctor: [Doc looks over at Fran] "Jack and Bruce?" [Why is Doc always the last one to know about these things?!]
Alex: "No one said he wasn't a suspect, just that we shouldn't discount others." Alex replied, trying to keep things on topic.
Gryf: Gryf looks over at Jack and actually snaps, "he wouldn't kill you for no reason! I know he wouldn't! Do you remember him doing it? Something?" No, she knows John wouldn't. He's... He's not like that.
Garcia: "From what you've said, this was very well thought through. Not an act of passion where the unsub was just taking advantage of a situation."
Steve: It seemed calculating to me
Alex: "There is a difference between savagery done in the heat of a moment, and savagery done with calculation and intent. Having seen the...result? I believe it was the latter, while John is more likely to do the former."
Kale: "Unless there were two people involved," Kale says drly. "One person killed Jack and then another person found his body later and cut out his heart."
Garcia: She was back in her working headspace and ready to tackle the mystery with her new team. This was the last thing she expected to be doing, but at least she could be useful.
Mordin: Mordin turns to Bruce, "Doctor Banner. You mentioned a potential enemy. Who is it?"
Doctor: [His train of thought completely derailed, Doc looks at Bruce, seeing him in a different light for the first time. And then he smites his brow.]
Jack: Jack turns to Bruce and gives him an almost-pleading look at Mordin's question. He didn't do this. It wouldn't be the Doctor. Please.
Bruce: While Bruce really doesn't want to bring the past up, because there isn't a hate there anymore on his part, there very well could be on someone else's. He takes a breath before looking down. "...the Doctor." Sorry, Jack.
Garcia: Garcia shook her head at the suggestion that two people had worked on the same body. "You might have been killed by someone else, Kale, but whoever killed the Captain wouldn't have felt comfortable enough working with another person to let them know where the body was. It's too personal an action for it to be someone who simply stumbled on the body, too."
Doctor: "What?"
Yuna: Yuna's minds races as she listens to everyone's chatter. It feels like they are falling apart being divide. "Stop it." She wants to yell at everyone. "guessing isn't going to help and we are only tearing this group apart."
Garcia: "...Wait. You're just the Doctor?" There was excitement in her voice at this. Yes. She was definitely dreaming. "No. No, not ever. The Doctor doesn't kill. You are the Doctor with the Tardis who travels all of space and time, right?"
Doctor: "Bruce, whatever issues you and I may have, why would you possibly think I would want to do anything to Captain Harkness?"
Smith: Yuna... [Smith gives her a sad look.] I don't want this to turn into a witch hunt, either. No one does. But it has to be done, for everyone's safety. This could easily happen again.
Steve: We need to work together to figure this out
Mordin: Mordin glances at the Doctor and strokes his chin thoughtfully. He considers it, but he doesn't particularly buy it. Unless the Doctor IS as crazy as he seems.
Celena: Celena leans back in her couch, her questions lost to the din of conversation it seemed before nodding to Steve, "Agreed,"
Bruce: Bruce shakes his head slightly. "I don't, but it was asked if I have any potential enemies." He doesn't want to be here. He doesn't want to answer this or be questioned. This is pretty much his form of hell minus the cage.
Doctor: [Doc looks at Garcia briefly]: "Hmm? Oh, yes." He files away her disturbing knowledge for a later discussion.]
Smith: No one here can say for sure what other people are and are not capable of. If we knew that, this wouldn't have happened in the first place.
Yuna: Yuna shakes her head. "If we can't find out who then we should work on making sure it doesn't happen again. We can do something knowing there is a problem"
Loki: Sif leans back in her seat, listening to everything as best she could. Such good suspects! And she had only been accused once and not brought up again. Now if she could just keep it steered on other people… that would be fantastic.
Smith: I agree with that, Yuna. But in order to prevent this, we need to find the culprit.
Steve: Sometimes the bad guys aren't caught, but we can be prepared for the future.
Doctor: "Well *I* don't see you as an enemy! A potential rival, perhaps, but apparently we *don't* have the same object for our affections." [He looks between Bruce and Jack.] "Why does nobody TELL me these things?"
Garcia: "So we go through the footage. All of it. We establish alibis for everyone on board."
Fran: Fran looked to Garcia. “What is an alibi?”
Kale: Kale raises his hand.
Steve: That's a good place to start
Bruce: Bruce's brows come together. "Because it's none of your business, Doctor? You don't have some authority that gives you the right to know everything. You assumed we had the same object in mind.
Smith: We can go about preventing this in the future with increased security. We'll have to come up with a plan when it comes to future excursions into the hub, as well.
Gryf: "Okay. Okay. Let's start with this." Gryf calls out over the room. "You're each going to tell me where you were when Jack was killed. I can pull the footage up immediately if I know the location. If you're not there, you're lying. Plain and simple." Or not so plain and simple as she's going to find out.
Twins: Trever leans over to Kale and asks him something in Irish, which is not understood becuase they're not talking to anyone else. They have a short rapid fire conversation.
Garcia: "It'll be funnier if you do it," she whispers back with a grin.
Kale: Kale's hand continues to be up.
Doctor: "Yes, Bruce, and I... was wrong. I'm sorry."
Gryf: Gryf has no idea what the hand up symbol means, Kale, sorry. She's not from Earth.
Garcia: "Go ahead, Kale," she invites. Learning from the victim was useful in the situations she'd been involved with where they were still around to talk to.
Spider: "I think that one of the Bobbsey Twins wants to say something."
Jack: Jack looks significantly at the Doctor, and then back to Bruce. "you...don't apologize very often." Just to point out exactly how significant this is.
Kale: "I can talk to machines. I could talk to our coms and see who sent the message."
Spider: "It won't mess with our data, will it?" [He grabs his laptop and holds it to him tightly.]
Kale: "No. It wouldn't. And I don't think I'd want t o look at your data."
Alex: "Your COMM, Sunshine, not your damn laptop." Alex responded to Spider.
Spider: "Pal, there are Presidents and Premiers who would give their left testicle to look at my data." [Says Spider]
Gryf: Gryf thinks about it, then nods. "Everyone, comms out. Kale, you talk to their comms, I'll check the footage."
Smith: I can also quickly pore through the records.
Steve: [hands Kale is Comm] go ahead and look at mine.
Mordin: Mordin turns to Gryf. He doesn't care much for their host, she hasn't earned his respect in the same way others have, but he knows she's trying to keep the peace in her domain. Besides, he can get his alibi out of the way simply enough. "Was in Medical. Was made aware of murder by 'Vadum and Doctor Mercer."
Alex: "And unless one of them did it, then no, they don't need to see your fucking laptop. Your Comm device, is another story here, Princess." Alex already has his out, and is passing it to Kale.
Spider: "But fine, here you go. I was tripping out on homemade jumpstart most of that day, so I got nothing to hide." [Holds out his comm]
Kale: Kale grabs Steve's comm and then Alex's and Spider's.
Celena: Celena draws out her comm and holds it before her, before regarding Gryf, "I was in the process of repairing the Oxygen recyclers you set me to repair,"
Jack: "Uh. Who's to say they didn't do it?" Jack quietly points out, in resposne to Alex.
Harry: [Harry holds up his left hand] Here's my alibi. I don't have a good history with knives. ["See? Gender equality. Now I'm lying to everyone."]
Steve: I can vouch for that [smiles at Celena]
Alex: "Premieres and presidents, that he was talking about." Alex responds to Jack. "He's worried about the wrong device."
Jack: "Okay, well, I'm worried about the Twins."
Fran: Fran pulls her comm out from…well, somewhere with the lack of space her armor seems to have and passes it towards Kale.
Loki: Sif reaches into her cleavage to pull her own out, and passes it along as well. Sure, her clothing doesn’t have pockets, but her body came with one!
Yuna: Yuna holds out her comm and waits to pass it over. "I was with Steve and Celena."
Trever: Trever tilts his head, "Why are you worried about us?"
Doctor: [Doc holds out his comm device]. "I was in the TARDIS all that day. You all heard my call after the Hulk's roar."
Jack: "Again, whose to say it wasn't one of them," Jack looks at the Twins firmly. "If you guys want to trust what's going to come out of them, then okay, but excuse me if I'm not going to take this as absolute evidence."
'Vadum: 'Vadum draws out his communicator from the belt of his combat harness and holds it forth, "I was maintaining the Twilight Advance for sometime prior to Alex alerting me to the discovery,"
Fran: I started out in the halls, but when I heard the Hulk, I moved to my room.
Kale: Kale's getting a nice little pile of comms and then gives Jack a flat look. "Why exactly would we have any desire to do anything to you? We barely even talk."
Smith: [Smith gives his own comm over to Kale. He can't check his own for this, of course. He can help Kale look over some of the others, though.] I was in my room, examining data from the trip to the central hub.
Alex: "I was with Chekov doing a medical consulting regarding his headaches. Then I took him to medical, and headed to the center to meet Yuna. I found her when she screamed." There's his alibi, and Chekov's, and camera's will back it up.
Jack: "No one is getting ruled out." Jack shakes his head. "Just pointing out that we're not assuming you two are in the clear, just because you're checking the comms."
Loki: I was out in the halls as well, though the moment I heard what was going on, I went to that box in the supplies room. {she looks to Doctor} I forgot what it was called, where you gave me that little sweet.
Gryf: Gryf settles back in the couch and starts going over each person's alibi, carefully. Dragging up multiple windows with multiple feeds and actually flicking them up with a physical flick of her finger so everyone in the room can see each feed as she runs it backwards to the time of Jack's going into the center.
Jack: The Shepherd has been quietly near the door the entire time, only comes forward to put his comm on the pile, and then retreat.
Spider: "And who's checking their work then? Quis custodiet ipsos custodios?"
Harry: [Harry leans forward to Jack and speaks quietly] Okay, two things, I'm not ruling them out because of that thing they just did, and second, I really think it's the femme fatale over there, and the Johnny Gossamer books back me up with this one.
'Vadum: 'Vadum also notes, "Prior to my maintenance of the Twilight Advance I had been speaking with Shepherd Book in the Gymnasium," gesturing to the Shepherd by the door
Garcia: The comm was one of her favorite things about the Station. She had already spent hours playing with it and finding out its parameters. She had already added code to hers that would allow only her to access it, and she was reluctant to turn it over. A gesture took off the lock, and she handed it to Kale. "I've been in my room or in the dining hall the whole time I've been here. I was ordered to bed rest after we arrived."
Jeeves: Jeeves bows. "Ah yes. Juvenal. I believe that would be me checking them, you will find me a most keen observer of the human condition, and I endeavor to give satisfaction." He pauses. "As for my own alibi, I believe I was at the residence of my employer in an attempt to procure a grand piano for the very room in which we all sit."
Jack: Jack leans towards Harry, and nods, continuing their sidebar quietly so no one else can overhear. "Thank you. I'll get someone to talk to them, as well, but I just don't want those two to rest easy. And, femme fatale? Fran?"
Kale: Kale shrugs at Jack and starts with Spider's comm. He holds it up and taps a gloved finger on it muttering something. The comm glows briefly as Kale tilts his head as if listening to something. He then tosses the Comm to Smith. "It's clear, but I really dont' want to know why you were doing that, Spider. You've traumatized the poor thing and it nearly shorted a circuit."
Harry: [Harry shakes his head] The black-haired chick. The one I haven't seen before. Fran'd stab you in the front. [He continues] Want me to prove it?
Spider: "Doing what?" [Looks at the Cat.] "What did you do?" [The Cat smiles in an unconvincing attempt to look innocent.]
Kale: He picks up Garcia's and tilts his head briefly after doing the same thing. "Huh. Neat code. Interesting way of locking it." And that one is tossed to Smith.
Smith: [When Smith's handed a comm to investigate, he holds it in one hand while the inxed finger on the other finger slides back suddenly to reveal a connector. He plugs it directly into the machine and is silent for a few moments as he goes over the data.]
Jack: Jack pauses, and looks Sif over. She has no reason to, though. Jack gets the strong impression that she is someone who has been in trouble in her home world, and hasn't quite yet realized that she is safe here, so she's so confrontational. But she actually seems to trust Jack. Could Harry be right? Jack shakes his head. "We'll both talk to her. But not here. If it actually was her, let's not out it here, or we're going to have a brawl on our hands."
Bruce: Bruce offers over his comm to Kale, just to prove his point, but he's more focused on the feeds that Gryf has up. Everyone, by now, is visible on an individual feed. If you guys were curious just how many cameras are on the Station? You're getting a bit of an education. There are several views of each person, at least.
Spider: [Spider looks all around the room, surreptitiously taking a picture of each and every person with his Live Shades.]
Garcia: "Glad I wasn't in the bathroom," Garcia mumbles.
Steve: [looks at] That's a lot of footage
Kale: Bruce gets a grin from Kale as he checks out the man's comm, humming softly to himself.
Alex: Somehow I think I was happier before I knew just how much privacy we don't have. *unhappy, but accepting for now*
Steve: You get used to it.
Gryf: Gryf's eyes open and she looks to Alex with a brow. "Do you seriously think I watch you guys in your rooms? What is wrong with you? There's cameras, but I don't watch them. I really don't want to know what you guys do in your own rooms."
Celena: Celena regards the footage with interest, all the more confirmation of how well monitored the situation, "I'm curious Gryf, do you have footage of the room the heart was found in?"
Spider: "Privacy has always been an illusion. Where I come from the average person inhales three floating cameras every day. Yeah, you get used to it."
Kale: When Bruce's clears he tosses that one to Smith.
Gryf: "How are you doing that?" she questions Gryf. "It would take me hours to hack into this place and pull all of that up, and you have it in seconds." Spider: "And you let them know that you know they're watching." [Nearly half of Spider's footage includes him turning to the camera and giving it the finger.]
Fran: “This place is Gryf's, which should be reason enough why she is able,” Fran points out.
Crichton: "Administrator privileges." Crichton says. "Like Pilot, but nowhere near as friendly."
Spider: [Spider turns to Gryf.] "Nothing personal."
Kale: Kale pauses at Alex's and then says, "You and Trever should talk about your pokemon. Gods."
Gryf: To Garcia, eyes closing again as she focuses on the footage, she responds, "I'm connected to the whole Station thanks to my bio-tech. I've worked it over the years I've been here to make sure the whole system responds to me like it should."
Alex: *shrugs* It's amusing. The little thing is kind of cute.
Gryf: Then, to Spider, "that's why every time you get something from the replicator, it tastes like mud."
Steve: It is very impressive.
Spider: "Better than lizards three times a day, believe me."
Yuna: Yuna just watches in awe. her own little pokemon playing happily on her comm
Kale: Steve's and Book's get a quick pass from Kale and tossed to Smith.
Garcia: "Bio-tech? Oh wow. Would I ever love to have that. I'm good, but you're better. It would take a team to go through this much data, even if we had all of the passwords." There was a sort of reverence in her tone. She was used to being the best. Always. It had been years since she'd found someone who could outhack her. Gryf just earned infinite respect.
Gryf: Gryf gestures a little with her hand and pauses all of the footage, then with a bit of motion from her fingers, like someone ruffling through papers or counting something perhaps, she pulls up a single feed. "This is Bruce's room." Bruce and Jack's, she knows, but won't just say that.
Jack: Jack finally puts his comm on the pile, so Kale can examine whatever trace of the message is left on there. "If Gryf couldn't see anything, I doubt if you'll see anything different." But he stays close, watches Kale closely.
Kale: When Kale gets to Sif's he pauses and tilts his head curiously at the device, repeating the spell again. "Huh." And then tosses the comm to Smith.
Celena: Celena nods and regards the feed that's brought up, "Thanks, I'm curious is there any sign of when the heart was delivered? That may give us a hint on who or by what methods the individual is operating,"
Jeeves: Jeeves hands his comm over and smiles politely.
Smith: [Smith investigates Sif's, then hands it back to her, as he has been with everyone else's. So far, nothing incriminating on anyone.]
Jack: Jack's comm is taken and held up. The same spell word spoken as he did with all the others. The same glow as all the others. He then pats the comm. "Yes, I know. It's okay. Really. " To Jack he leans back. "It didn't like the message it got. Said it made it feel funny."
Bruce: Bruce watches the footage carefully beside Jack, who could feel every inch of Bruce's body is tense as he keeps his eyes focused on the footage playing in fast speed.
Gryf: Gryf taps her fingers on her knee as she watches the footage, her brows coming together. "It's not a great view of the bed, but..." Nothing at all seems to happen on the footage. In fact, it's really easy in fast forward to even see when the box appears on camera. Gryf actually frowns hard and has to rewind and slow it down-
Everyone will see it. On the bed, with the faintest of golden glimmer, the box simply appears there with the note on top of it.
Steve: *stares* I know that I am really bad at technology, but what the heck is that?
Jack: Jack stares up at the feed, their room, their old room. His jaw sets firmly, and he reaches down for Bruce's hand again. And then- Jack blinks, startled. "What?" That's. Okay. No. But that means that either, someone is fooling the cameras...or it's one of the magic users.
Trever: "Teleport spell. Bugger annoying," Trever says.
Smith: [Smith doesn't even know what to make of that.]
Spider: [Spider audibly snorts at mention of the word "magic."]
Crichton: Crichton gets up, starts walking over. "Spectroanalysis. Now." he says. "I have a hunch I wanna play."
Fran: Fran’s ears perk towards the footage. She knows of magic when she sees it, since things do not appear out of thin-air, even in her world.
Kale: Kale continues to make his way through the comms. "Well, that rules out anyone who can't use magic, doesn't it?"
Doctor: [Doc is puzzled, as he is firmly in the "any-sufficiently-advanced-tech-is-indistinguishable-from-magic" camp.]
Celena: Celena watches the footage carefully as the box appears on camera, nodding thoughtfully, "Either teleportation or some measure of cloaking or illusion, I've not seen technological cloaking give that effect, however it may be possible,"
Jack: Jack very slowly turns to look back down at the Twins. "Good to know." He reaches out and snatches his comm back. "And not necessarily. Could be someone capable of fooling the comms."
Crichton: "I think I mighta seen that once or twice." Crichton said. "Which is why there's gotta be a way to check night vision or something, right?"
'Vadum: 'Vadum frowns at the footage, inclining his head, "It is unlike my own form of camoeflage certainly,"
Steve: Is there anyone on board that has that power?
Doctor: [Doc perks up] "K-9!"
Bruce: Bruce doesn't even flip his hand over, just leaves it under Jack's and only lets out a breath when they see the box appear. So it was magic user that had done all of this?
Smith: [When Smith gets to Jack's comm, he looks puzzled.] Odd... The message you received. I can't read it internally. It's garbled.
Doctor: [The dog's ears twitch] "MASTER?"
Veena: Veena stretches and vanishes from her spot before reappearing on K9's back.
Gryf: Gryf just looks at Crichton in confusion. "Spectro-what?" The word isn't one she happens to know.
Smith: [It can be read displayed on the screen, but when he tries to read it while jacked in, he getrs nothing.]
Kale: Kale nods at Smith. "That's why the Comm's so unhappy. The message didn't come in right."
Loki: Sif is just as confused as Gryf with Crichton’s words. “What sort of analysis?”
Doctor: "Is there any way you can analyze the footage, to scan spectropically?"
Smith: If it was corrupted, I should know. But it's not. I don't know what it is.
Celena: Celena looks to Steve with a nod as she speaks up, "I have considerable ability with illusions and the ability to form portals, however those are considerably distinctive,"
Jack: Jack nods much more respectfully at Smith. "So, again, we're probably back to someone who can mess with technology, not necessarily a magic user."
Gryf: Gryf looks over to the Doctor. "...They're cameras. I don't know what you expect them to do."
'Vadum: I cannot speak for others that may have the ability however.
Crichton: "Looking through something in heat vision, infrared, other spectrums of light. Things outside the visible spectrum." He's tensed a little. "If it's cloaking, they still leave some kinda signature."
Steve: /nods his head
Doctor: "So they just record in plain light? No IR, UV, anything like that?"
Alex: "...they want to know if the camera's can scan on another wavelength." Alex chimed in, definitely losing patience.
Loki: Sif crosses her arms once more. “Is there anything unseen down where the body was found? In this…analysis of some sort?”
Spider: "That's what they're trying to figure out, I think."
Alex: Now, Alex is going to smack his head. "Damnit, I should've checked the thermal spectrum while down there when Yuna screamed and found the body." Granted, he'd been more concerned for his surrogate little sister...
Jack: Jack shakes his head to Sif's question. "Again, those sorts of scanners don't work in the Center, and those people who can see into other spectrums like infra-red haven't seen anything down there."
Doctor:[Doc tilts his head and suddenly his face brightens.] "But maybe there's another way."
Smith: I can't check. Everything but my most basic life functions shut down in there, so I can't run any tests.
Yuna: Yuna is trying to keep up with but the theory's keep changing. She only knows two people on board here are skilled at illusions. Everything else they were talking about was confusing.
Crichton: "Doc?" Crichton asks
Doctor: "DO we have an idea how many people have been in and out of that section? And who?"
Gryf: "Not the ones in people's rooms?" Gryf says hesitantly, thinking about it. "There are ones in the Station that are designed for something sort of like that, but they're only in the hallways."
Harry: [Harry sits by Yuna] Hey...you okay?
Kale: Kale pick's up the Doctor's comm and frowns at it. And then gives it a shake. "Oh. Well. Huh. Yes. Sorry. Sorry about that." It's tossed to Smith.
Doctor: "Because perhaps K9 can be a proper bloodhound and sniff out who was there."
Fran: {Looks down at K-9} He is not organic, so how may he do such things?
Yuna: Yuna takes another drink and looks up at Harry. "Im just confused and a little tired." It's still hard to believe that someone could do this and then there is technology mixing with magic.
Mordin: Mordin looks to the Doctor, "Local scents probably dispersed. Mechanical dog would not be able to gather scent from murder site."
Jack: Cue Jack's disbelieving look. "Didn't know K-9 had that capability. It's been a long time, though, any sort of olfactory trails should be long gone." You know, except for the massive bloodstain still on the floor...
Crichton: "Always bet on the robo-pet." Crichton pets K-9. "Always. So what c'n he do?"
Trever: "Sensors, probably."
Doctor: [Doc smiles]: "Because his electronic nose, I dare say, is as sensitive as yours, my dear. If not more so."
Trever: Trever says, "Veena could probably do the same thing."
Harry: [Harry comforts her] Look, we'll get to the bottom of this. I promise.
Bruce: Bruce looks at Trever, frowning just slightly. "Is there a distance range on a teleport spell? Would someone have to go near my room if it was just... magicked into the room?"
Smith: [to the Doctor] It will work outside the hub, but not in, if what happened to me is any indication.
Fran: Fran’s red eyes narrow slightly at the nose part. She hopes you’re not comparing her to a rabbit, like others have here.
Doctor: "Oh yes, Veena, Fran, perhaps even..." [He looks at Spider's cat.] "...never mind."
Alex: Alex is just gonna head over towards Yuna, and reach down a hand on her shoulder. Silent support.
Trever: Trever sighs. "I don't know. It depends on the caster and it depends on the spell. teleportation is still a very new science in our world. We haven't exactly got it down beyond the creatures that can do it naturally, like Veena or some gods or some fey. Usually what happens when humans try it, things go splat."
Yuna: Yuna gives Harry and Alex the best smile she could muster. She wasn't used to large discussions like this.
Harry: [Harry hugs her] Wanna go to the garden? Get out of here? Go kick rocks? I have to stay, but I'll join you later...
Kale: "Or pear shaped," Kale adds, snickering at something. "Hey, Yuna, your little pokemon is very happy. And loves you lots."
Doctor: "Well, unless anyone else has a better idea, we can start there. Nobody leave the room! K9, I want you to get a bio-metric sample of everyone!" "AFFIRMATIVE, MASTER."
Celena: Celena ponders at Bruce's question, "Agreed, it would vary greatly, the shorter the distance the more accurate the teleport in most cases however, and they would likely require to know the exact location the item was to be teleported to."
Yuna: Kale's remark makes her smile. Yuna made a habit of singing to her pokemon every day. She shakes her head at Harry. She wanted to stay and be present if she can.
Crichton: Crichton frowns. "Hey...Jack? I wanna ask you something. Quietly."
Jack: Jack is happy to pull Crichton aside for a sidebar. "What's up?"
Garcia: "Wouldn't the range vary according to the magic user? I mean, I wouldn't expect a human to have the same range as say, a fey or a god."
Bruce: Bruce tenses hard at the idea of K-9 doing this to him. Too many people that wanted to replicate the Hulk in the past. He gives a hard look at the Doctor for the idea, hoping he'll get the message on that.
Gryf: While Gryf, thinking about it, finally suggests towards those discussing the magical part of this, "um, is there a way to test who like... has magic?"
Crichton: "The sensors...do they register every energy signature? Or just certain energy signatures?" Crichton asks Jack
K-9: [K9 makes a circuit of the room. He stops in front of each person, extends his sensor disc, and "sniffs" each person for a few seconds.] "SAMPLES GATHERED, MASTER."
Jack: [As before, when K-9 pauses to get a sample off of Jack, there is no sign of any chronon particles still remaining on him.]
Smith: [Here we go again with magic. Cue Smith slipping back to his quiet observation.]
Trever: "Yeah. Range and power of the magic user," Trever says. "Veena can go about a mile by herself., but if she's carrying something it's much shorter."
Doctor: [Doc looks at Bruce and nods. No data will be kept.]
Alex: Alex is somewhat less than enthusiastic being sniffed, but he'll manage. Surprisingly, more worried about Yuna.
Doctor: Doc stands up and calls out: "Attention please?"
Yuna: Yuna gives K-9 a happy pet as he passes her
Celena: Celena looks to Gryf with a thoughtful look, "There are a number of ways to determine who has magical potential,"
Jack: Jack thinks for a second before he answers Crichton. "Certain energy signatures. They were recently modified to also pick up certain ranges of radiation, thanks to Bruce's modifications, but there are gaps in what the Station sensors can read. Why?"
Jack: Jack raises his voice again in response to Gryf's question. "I'm telling you guys, there might not be any magic going on here, it might just be tampering or otherwise shielding themselves from the cameras. You get too attached to this theory, we're going to miss stuff."
Doctor: "All right, now I've just had K9 get a good "sniff" of each of you. If you're curious, he took a sample of the bits of each of you floating in the air; you do know that we all shed millions of skin cells each day, right? SO now he should be able to examine Bruce's room and find out who was there... and approximately when."
Gryf: Gryf looks over at Jack. "I'm not going to pass on it being a theory, either!"
Crichton: "Because if there was something, they could have sensed it. If there wasn't something, they wouldn't have. But either way, it could have read the energy signature, right?" Crichton asks. "It's energy."
Doctor: "Hello?"
Garcia: "Stabbing is personal. It means that the unsub knew the victim and had reason to be angry at him. If all they wanted to do was piss off Bruce, they would have killed a different way. From behind usually implies some kind of guilt or physical incapacity to win in a fair fight, but what if they already knew that Jack would come back?"
Smith: [Hey, not everyone is shedding their skin cells everywhere, you gross organic life forms.]
Alex: "If they already knew he'd come back, why kill him...other than punishment and revenge. If they DON'T know he comes back..."
Doctor: "Someone will likely need to accompany K9 to make sure that what he does is on the up-and-up. And obviously that can't be me."
Yuna: Yuna looks up at Alex, "But others can come back too." She gestures towards the twins.
Gryf: Gryf looks over at the Doctor and gestures at herself. "I'll be watching him, too."
Harry: [Harry raises his hand] I've been hired by the victim, I think this is my case. Um...if...if getting a case from a dead guy gives me any authority?
Steve: I'm good with animals
Mordin: Mordin speaks up, "Could go. Confirm results on omnitool. Record them."
Smith: I can help as well.
Doctor: [Doc looks at Smith] "Ah, but Mr. Smith here also won't contaminate the site, since he doesn't shed skin cells himself."
Alex: "Kale wasn't expected to come back."
Jack: Jack nods at Crichton. "We can look into the sensor logs for that area, especially now that we have a time frame." Jack again speaks up for Harry's point. "Harry should go along, record the evidence, he's the one officially investigating this."
Loki: Sif leaned back a little more and crossed one knee over the other. “I think those that are not helping with the murder ordeal should assist in repairing damage to the Station.”
Garcia: "But he implied that he had died before, so it can't be ruled out that his killer murdered him from behind for that reason and not because he was physically inferior." No. She wasn't flirting. Okay. Maybe a little.
Gryf: Gryf raises a finger. "Alex brings up a good point. ...Kale was killed as well as Jack. And somehow came back to life." This time, she turns her gaze on Bruce. "...I watched what happened."
Crichton: Stab wound all healed up?" Crichton asks
Steve: *to Sif* And where do you fall?
Spider: [responds to Sif] "I'm not sure that's a good idea. Gives too many people a chance to spread out and scatter trails."
Celena: Celena inclines her head to the Doctor before looking to Gryf, "In regards to magic, I may be able to assist in confirming who has the capability and who might not. Given differences in magics between worlds it may not be guaranteed but I would offer it,"
Jack: Jack falls silent, as the point he was trying to distract from, what he was trying to protect Bruce from, is right back around. He looks to Bruce, and then back to Kale. "I guess my question from earlier still stands. We all know why I'm alive again. Why are you?"
Loki: Sif looks to Steve. “What do you mean, if I’m helping with the case or rebuilding?”
Steve: Yes. which one?
Kale: Kale shrugs. "I don't know. I was dead at the time. I didn't talk to the Morrigan at all. She's the one who sends souls back to life if they've got unfullfiled business."
Yuna: Yuna looks at Celena. "We can just ask who can use magic. I've talked to a few on board about it."
Jack: "This has never happened to you before, then? No fast healing, no resurrection?" Jack keeps on the point.
Loki: I am a warrior of Vanaheimr, I can help rebuild.
Steve: /nods
Celena: Celena dips her head, "Of course, I offer only as a confirmation of that, better to ask first,"
Kale: Kale shakes his head. "No. Not in our family. We'll reincarnate." He gives Trever a grin and earns an dirty look in return. "But we heal like regular people."
Spider: "HELLO?! Why are we talking about sending people to the four corners of the Station when there's still a murderer to find?"
Trever: "We die like regular people, too," Trever adds.
Jeeves: Jeeves appears at Spider's shoulder. "An excellent question, Mr. Jerusalem. One worth pondering. Might I be of assistance?"
Spider: "Aaah! Don't DO that!"
Gryf: "Except that, um, you didn't. Kale came back to life, just like Jack, right in Sebastian's bed!" Gryf points out.
Jack: Jack frowns deeply. "Then we might have an even bigger problem here than *just* an unfound murderer. Did anybody else do anything to Kale, to bring him back to life?"
[thestation]: (elric441) "I am terribly sorry, Mr. Jerusalem. And forgive me for the repetition, but might I be of any assistance?"
Steve: The only thing I did was break a door
Trever: "The stasis tube was still filled with goo," Trever says. "It's as if someoen managed to teleport his body out of it and put it in Seb's bed."
Bruce: Gryf hesitantly asks, "the same person who teleported a box into Bruce's bedroom?"
Yuna: Yuna shakes her head. She is attunded with spirits and wanted to find out about that too. She has already put a lot of thought into it. Why was trevers body put there.
Doctor: [Doc stands up again]: "Right, well then, if no one has any objections, I'll just send K9 to the area to see who was there, shall I? Smith, would you like to assist?"
Alex: This station has had weird things happen before, has anyone other than Jack died on it before?
Jack: There's something about that. Jack frowns, and his hands go to his hips. And then he turns to Mordin. "Did you or anyone else move me out of the med bay? After I died?"
Smith: [He nods. Smith's eager to help where magic isn't involved.]
Garcia: "Can we look at the video of him appearing in Sebastian's room?" It was the next logical thing to her.
Jack: Jack quickly shakes his head at Alex's question. "No."
Kale: "That's a good idea. See if there's a similarity in the teleportation."
Mordin: "Captain Harness' body vanished from the slab I was keeping it on as well. Do not have any evidence anyone else opened the drawer."
Doctor: [Spider turns to Jeeves]: "You can start by making me one of those restoratives I saw you give the young lady in the kimono."
Alex: Unfortunately, the only way to test if it is a part of the Station's weirdness, is by someone else dying. Doubt we're eager for that.
Celena: Celena ponders that, noting Gryf's comment then Trever's, before pondering, "Indeed, was there a similar golden effect on his 'resurrection', on either of them?"
Gryf: Gryf actually tenses and looks down at Alex's question. Only a very few people know about the truth of that question, and she isn't sure she can talk about it in front of a group of people like this.
Yuna: "Is it anything like when we show up here, maybe?" Yuna doesn't really understand so she is throwing out ideas
Jack: Jack's voice is quiet. "I didn't wake up inside the med bay. If nobody moved me there, how the hell did I get back to Tamsyn's quarters?"
K-9: [K9 is making his way to the door unless someone goes to stop him. At the door, he waits for Smith.]
Trever: Trever waves his hand rapidly as if trying to get an idea out of his had. "Oh.... Oh... wait... idea... thought... "
Jeeves: "At once, sir. The *ahem* Mogen-David vineyard?" Jeeves goes back behind the bar and pulls bottles out of his case, using small amounts and practiced measurements, and making it a little stronger than Yuna's, as Spider looks like a man who knows his drink. He pauses as he looks at Spider expectantly.
Gryf: Gryf's head comes up and her brows come together. "Jack, you woke up in Cutie's room? No one's been in there since-" Since Q.T. vanished.
Celena: Celena gives a thoughtful look, before nodding to Yuna, "Indeed, perhaps it was a similar effect to what brought us here. Such that teleports comms to those who arrive and such,"
Spider: "Sure, sounds good."
Trever: "There's an obvious temporal stasis in the center of the station and we're in a dead space, also sort of outside of time. What if something is resetting people who died. Like snapping them back like a rubberband," Trever says. "And they can't leave the station for some reason, so they just get reset to where they first arrieved."
Jeeves: Jeeves looks a little disapproving and nods. "Indeed, sir." He pours a shot into the drink and then adjusts everything accordingly and hands it to Spider. "Your *ahem* restorative, Mr. Jerusalem. For the man who likes things a bit harsh."
Yuna: Yuna looks over at Trever. "The spirits were gone though. I couldn't find them on the ship."
Gryf: Gryf rubs the bridge of her nose and looks around the room. "Smith, go ahead. I have you and K-9 on camera." Then to Celena, "the sensors would have gone off if that had happened, I think, but then again, no one's been transported inside the Station to another part of the Station like this before."
Bruce: Bruce looks to Gryf at her statement. "The sensors are only designed to sense the change in the bubble around the Station, which fluctuates when one of the appearances or a change happens. It wouldn't pick up inside."
Gryf: Gryf looks away from Bruce at that and to Trever, frowning. "...snapping back..." She looks to Jack, thinking, then suddenly to Kale. "Kale, when you first came to the Station... where were you?"
Smith: [Smith gives Gryf a nod and heads out with K-9.]
Kale: "Sebastian's bed. But naked." He then cheerfully adds, "With Sebastian in the bed too."
Loki: Now why could that not have been me? No, I had to get the insolent moron’s bed. {scowls} One that thought that oogling my body and slapping my rear was a way to get on my decent side.
Spider: [to Sif; he's been working his way over to her] "Hey it could have been worse. You could have ended up in *my* bed."
Jack: Jack frowns, and goes very quiet, because this doesn't sound good for him. He looks up at the Doctor, and holds his gaze for a second, silently worried. He has a really bad thought about this...and the Doc is the only one who can answer the question the he isn't going to ask out loud.
Loki: Any mortal’s bed would be a bane here. {sneers at Spider}
Steve: [is watching Jack, his brow furrowing]
Gryf: Now sounding a touch uncertain, Gryf looks between Kale and Jack. Then, quietly, to Jack, "were you uh-" Aaaaand she's blushing. "Were you nude?"
Spider: "Mortal? So what does that make you?"
Celena: Celena raises an eyebrow to that, "If it were to reset time in such a manner it may use the initial entry points for an individual, otherwise its merely quite a coincidence," If that was the case however what would it mean for those who did not arrive on station, should something happen, after all the three of them, Garcia, Chekov and herself had arrived on the deadship.
Jack: Jack smiles patiently at Gryf and nods. First time he's smiled all day, even though it's gone quickly.
Trever: Trever murters something to Kale who shrugs. "It was funny."
Loki: {smirks} A goddess. Though I do prefer ‘Lady’ Sif. ‘Goddess’ sometimes is too much for a mere mortal to say.
K-9: [K9 comes back and reports]: ANALYSIS COMPLETE. DOCTOR BANNER WAS THE ONLY OTHER PERSON IN THE ROOM DURING THE APPROPRIATE TIME FRAME. NO ONE ENTERED THE ROOM TO PLACE THE BOX. SUGGEST THAT SOME FORM OF TELEPORTATION WAS USED.
Trever: Trever gives Sif a bland look. "Eh, the Morrigan's better than you."
Steve: I met a God once.
Jeeves: Jeeves just smiles and doesn't say a word, as if he knows something that's eluded everyone. "Very good, Miss.", he says after some thought.
Doctor: "Well, good job anyhow, K9."
Loki: {rolls her eyes at Trever} There’s not much accounting for tastes.
Bruce: Bruce looks over at Steve and raises a brow. "Two, technically."
Kale: Kale adds, "Goddess of war and death is always much tastier."
Spider: [Spider smirks at the word "Goddess."] "Sure you are. And I'm the Golden God of Gonzo Journalism."
Steve: True enough. Only one I liked however
Crichton: "Very good job," Crichton chimes in. "'Cause now we know it's a localized energy signature. Even if they're magic, it still should show up somehow. I'll even do th'upgrade to K-9 ta notice it." He's tangled with magicians before, even if they finally got Maldis off of their backs. "And the sensors, since we're gonna need it."
Mordin: Mordin is skeptical on the "god" point. Protheans could be seen as gods, but that didn't make them so.
Jack shakes his head. "All right, we still don't know. We have leads, but okay. There's nothing else that's going to get figured out right here and now." He nods at Crichton and Harry. "I'm going to continue to look into people, along with Harry, if Crichton can give us a hand on the technological sie, see if there's an energy trace related to what everybody seems to think is a teleportation, fine."
Bruce: Don't worry, Mordin. Bruce means it ironically.
Doctor: "Mister Crichton, you'd better let me at least assist you. K9 has some very delicate circuitry..."
Jack: Jack glances back at Gryf, unsure. "We done here?" Or, is there another point that Gryf is going to try to force through?
Trever: Continuing on their cheerful vain of conversation, Trever says, "And the Nordics get punched out too easily anyway."
Crichton: There's a pause as Crichton begins to wave him off, and then he remembers 1812. "Yeah, I'll let ya play vet with me."
Gryf: Gryf nods to Jack, then looks seriously at Bruce. "...you caused a lot of damage to the Station. You hurt several people and Kale died because of you."
Mordin: Mordin's eyes narrow. Cat's out of the bag now.
Doctor: "Don't get me wrong, my dear fellow; I trust your technical expertise. But K9 is... well, special."
Steve: [Tenses]
Crichton: "Nah, I completely understand. Got one a' those back home. Little thing's banged up ta hell, but we do okay." Crichton claps the Doctor on the shoulder.
Jack: And this is exactly what Jack was afraid of. "We'd also all be dead, several times over, if not for Bruce. What's your point?"
Bruce: Bruce freezes under that gaze, then his gaze drops and he stares at the floor, nodding, just slightly.
Gryf: Gryf's gaze is firm on Jack now, pointing at Bruce. "I'm saying this can't happen again. I don't care how it's fixed, or what's done to stop it, but it's not happening again on my Station and to these people!"
Steve: [Moves closer to Jack and Bruce] He saveed my life. How do you propose we fix it?
Doctor: [Doc overhears Gryf and Jack, and excuses himself from Crichton.] "Back in a moment..." [He stands closer, taking in this conversation.]
Garcia: Bruce. Hulk. Damage to the Station. Garcia's brain finally kicked in. "Oh. You're that Bruce! That is so COOL!"
Crichton: "Yeah, he doesn't look it, though, right?" Crichton tells Garcia.
Garcia: "Yeah. You're right. He's a hunky one, though." She's clearly going to be firmly on his side at this point.
Jack: For a moment, Jack wants to glare back at Crichton and Garcia, fucking really, did the relativistic fictional multi-verse thing land in Bruce's detriment *again!?* No, focus.
Kale: "The circle worked, at least," Kale says. "We know that's a viable option."
Bruce: Bruce looks over at Garcia in confusion, brows coming together, but refocuses on the issue at hand, his hands coming together and wringing in his lap in a nervous gesture.
Doctor: [Doc goes over and whispers to Jack]: "She looks rather more cross than I've seen her. What's going on?"
Gryf: Gryf shakes her head at Kale. "It didn't work because you died to do it!"
Steve: Any chance we could stay on point please?
Alex: "Preventing it, means determining how it happens, and preventing that from happening. It's not a failsafe though." Alex offered, firmly and trying to restore them all to focus.
Kale: "That's becuase Trever had to jury rigg it and wrote some symbols wrong. If we set up something properly before hand then we've got time to test it to make sure it doesn't go off wrong," Kale points out. "You don't dump and idea because the prototype got short circuited.
Steve: [Looks over at Bruce, remembering what he told them in New York]
Gryf: "And what if you're hurt? Or off planet or something when it happens, Kale?" Gryf shoots back, rubbing her temple as she tries to think. "I don't know how you're supposed to prevent it, but look at who we have here. There's got to be a way."
Yuna: Yuna was lost on what the point was, her mind didn't want to sit still. She looked over at Bruce trying to think of the details. He was the one who hurt her but she couldn't decide if she was still afraid of him. She was tired and ready to just leave.
Jack: Jack doesn't look away from Gryf, but speaks up to the Doctor. "How are we going to keep the Other Guy from hurting anyone again. He's already under control. He wasn't hurting anyone until some maniac decided to set him off by cutting my damn heart out, and leaving it for him to find."
Alex: Alex sighed, and slumped down on the couch beside Yuna. Pulling out his commm, and bringing up the pokemon and passing it to her. "Go ahead and play with him."
Mordin: Mordin sends a text message to Bruce: "Willing to help work on treatment of your condition at later juncture." He doesn't want to be rude and bring it up now verbally. He will however come to the other doctor's defense if it comes to it.
Yuna: Yuna took the distraction happily and started poking at the screen, lighting humming a tune to the creature.
Steve: *winces, because yeah* Bruce had the other guy under control for a long time right?
Loki: I agree with Jack. He’s only a threat if there’s a worse one on board, and it seems there is. From what I’ve been hearing, we certainly cannot afford to lose someone such as himself. {she gestures to Bruce before crossing her arms once more}
Doctor: "Ah, I see." [Looks at Bruce, back to Jack, and back to Bruce again]. "I don't know of a foolproof way, short of putting him in stasis. But I wouldn't agree to that under any circumstances."
Twins: The twins aren't at all acting angry at Bruce or blaming him for what happened to Kale.
Alex: "We also shouldn't be talking about Dr. Banner, as if he isn't here in the room with us, or without ideas. He likely knows, better than any of us, about himself and the risks."
Steve: Exactly.
Jack: Jack pauses and looks at Sif, a little surprised, but he gives her a grateful smile. It's not a direction he expected support to come from, but, she seems to understand.
Alex: Odd perhaps, considering they didn't get along for Alex to come to Banner's defense. But hey, he could sympathize a lot more than most would suspect, with Bruce.
Doctor: "Point well taken. Bruce, this is your life we're talking about. What do you want to do?"
Jack: Jack folds his arms and looks hard at Bruce. Oh, he knows what Bruce *wants* to do, and it's not an option on the table, but he will wait and let him speak.
Doctor: [And it's not just Bruce's life, the Doc thinks. Someone else's life hinges on the results of his work.]
Steve: [looks to Bruce also, trying to be reassuring]
Twins: Veena oozes onto Bruce's lap from somewhere, indicatingthe twin's support.
Bruce: Bruce takes a breath, then says quietly, "I spent the majority of my life since the day... it happened trying to cure myself, or even make a dent. Nothing's helped except my own control over it, which... I don't always have." None of them could really understand just how that control worked, how hard it had been to get this far.
"I don't want to be a risk." He looks to Trever and Kale, a glance to Jack, then back to the Twins. "I said I would accept whatever punishment you saw fit to dole out, short of death... only because the Other Guy would never let you. Otherwise- otherwise, I'll be going down to the planet. At least I can't hurt anyone there."
Gryf: Gryf's look softens at that. "But you were fine until the murder. Couldn't things just go back to normal once they're caught?"
Steve: Bruce.... [said softly] I am sure there has to be another option
Yuna: Yuna looks up from her distraction, "But I thought that planet wasn't safe? You can't go there."
Jack: Jack tenses. "I told you, that's not happening," his voice falls to a whisper, talking only to Bruce. "You think it's safer for us for you to be down there, but it's not safe for you. You-" He shakes his head. "You can't."
Kale: Trying to add a bit of humor in the situation, Kale says, "But I'd really like to see Bruce take on one of those insect dinosaur things."
Steve: No, you are not going somewhere unsafe. Do you think he will let you?
Doctor: "Pity the dinosaurs that get in the Other Guy's way..."
Yuna: Yuna looks at Bruce. "Why should you be punished? I don't think that's right. Your safer here"
Loki: Sif thinks silently as the others talk amongst themselves. “I think he should stay on the Station. Perhaps there should be points drawn up about the place - nearly finished traps that could be easily finished up in case of something similar to this past ordeal."
Trever: "I could probably rig up a safe room, like the circle I did," Trever says. "Which is more permanent and doesn't need Kale to turn on or off. It'd just take time."
Gryf: Gryf looks to Trever. "Like the one you and Kale made when the leech thing happened?" With a quick glance at the Doctor. Sorry.
Doctor: "And if it's power you require, I have a source on hand."
'Vadum: 'Vadum frowns at the situation, glancing to Yuna then Bruce, "Zizih's base of operations on world would be a secure location," he speaks up, "Your talents however would be of best use here on station,"
Trever: "Yeah." Trever says. He decides to not mention it was the same as the one used for the Hulk too, just the circuits were badly drawn. "The TARDIS, you mean?"
Garcia: "Or we could just catch the bastard that did this and not have to worry about any safety issues." Setting up a cage just seemed like an awful and dehumanizing way to treat the situation to her.
Alex: "I don't think anyone was taking that option off the table." Alex responded dryly.
Trever: "We're not saying we're not going to try and catch the person who killed Jack," Trever said.
Doctor: [to Trever] "Exactly."
Steve: [looks to Garcia] That sounds like a plan
Jack: Jack looks from Yuna, to the Doctor, to Sif, to Trever. Not the places that he expected support to be coming from, but it helps out his point, when he looks back to Bruce. "I told you. No one wants you to go. We can find ways to figure this out." Again, he reaches out, and takes Bruce's hand, completely not caring that everybody happens to be looking right now. "Please?"
Steve: Bruce you should listeen to your friends
Twins: The twins honeslty have nothing against Bruce.
Garcia: "But Bruce is still human, and you guys are treating him like he's some kind of crazed animal to be locked up." Didn't they know that was the reason that he hated for people to find out about him? No. He was human, and that he had a medical condition that occasionally caused harm to others didn't change that.
Bruce: Having Jack take his hand in front of everyone is unsettling for Bruce, not used to any sort of open affection like this, and even more, not used to the support that people here are giving him. He killed Kale. Why do they want him to stay? Why..??
Friends? Bruce looks to Steve, very uncertain, before letting out a breath and trying to find words to even respond to all of this. "The murderer knows it's possible to set me off and use me as a way to distract and hurt people. There's no reason to say they won't do it again. I... I don't want it to become a problem again. But if Trever and Kale can safely figure out a way for everyone to be safe from him..."
Kale: Kale jerks a thumb at Trever, "He coudl probably do the same thing you did when he goes into his own beserk mode. Admittedly probably not as damaging but he could kill people and be hard to stop. Especially with the sword."
Steve: We are just asking that you give us some time to figure it out.
Doctor: "We *will* find the murderer. This is a big Station, but he can't hide indefinitely."
Twins: "Or she."
Doctor: "And when we do find him -- or her..." [And Doc gets this look on his face that Jack has seen very rarely: The Fury of the Time Lord.]
Mordin: Mordin nods in agreement with the Doctor. On the other hand, what he plans to do about this murderer is likely not what the Timelord is planning.
Garcia: "We just need to do it quickly. A comfortable cage is still a cage, and no one deserves to live like that."
Alex: "Besides...they're not likely to use you again quite so soon. Not if it was a punishment and revenge murder." Alex pointed out, still convinced it was calculated and not a heat of the moment thing.
Twins: "Hopefully they got their revenge and will give it a rest."
Jack: On one hand, Jack is rather touched that the Doctor is getting this angry on his behalf. But, on the other hand, Jack doesn't want to bring up the problem that even if they do find who it was, they might not actually be able to do anything about it. No, now isn't the time. Find them first, worry about what to do later.
Loki: Oh was she about to say what she thinks she’s going to? Sure, why not. Might as well continue the charade as long as she could! Sif spoke up, gesturing again with her hands. “I’ve not been here as long as others have, but you seem noble enough in your mind that you’ll not want to harm anyone. As long as we keep the ‘faith’, so to speak (she makes a ‘hm’ noise, as though she’s not sure that’s the right term) that you’ll not intentionally harm anyone in this place, then you must in turn give us the ‘faith’ that we will help you find a worthwhile solution should such an ordeal arise once more.” She sounded much like a royal that she claimed to be, even as her hands went back to her lap. Was that a good enough performance?
Kale: Kale gives her a thoughtful look, his hands fiddling with a screwdriver.
Steve: [raises an eyebrow]
Jack: The more he thinks about it, the more Jack is pretty sure his analysis of Sif is right on the money. He'll need to thank her for her support later, thank her for her trust, when, really, she has had little to no reason to give it after her not-so-warm welcome from John.
Bruce: Bruce gives a surprised look towards Sif and the others, before his gaze drops again. "How can I say no to all of that?" Unable to believe he's actually agreeing to this, or that it's even happening at all.
Steve: You don't. [slight smile, tone relieved]
Spider: [Spider is skeptical, but keeps it to himself for once.]
Jack: Jack gives a relieved look to Bruce, a slight squeeze of his hand, and looks back to Gryf. "Your Station. Are you aggreable to this? He stays, we work on a solution, and try to find the murderer so this doesn't happen again?"
Alex: Alex is always going to be skeptical, but at this point? he just wants this should thing done with for now. Too unproductive.
Yuna: Yuna is happy that Bruce is getting support from others. She thought of everyone on borad as her crewmates, after all they were stuck together.
Gryf: Gryf looks at Bruce for a long moment, then finally nods. She looks to the others who were offering suggestions. "...a week. Figure it out in a week how to keep the Other Guy from destroying this place." Using the term everyone else is instead of 'big green monster'.
Trever: Trever presses his lips together. "I'm going to need a room then."
Steve: I can help you clean one out if you want?
Gryf: "You can have whatever room you think is necessary." She hesitates for just a second before adding, "remember, whoever goes in there... you could be sheltering the murderer, too."
Doctor: "Then we'll just have to be careful about who we let in, won't we?" [And for the first time all night, we see that big toothy grin.]
Loki: “Hm, I don’t think I agree with only a week’s time to perfect a ritual or spell, or whatever magic they’re using, but I suppose as you’re the one in charge here,” which wouldn’t sit right with someone like Sif, but she made sure that it didn’t show well on her face. “I’m really not the one to question things.” Arms across chest again. It was almost like that was her stance of defiance or something. Challenging, perhaps.
Gryf: "My Station, my rules." Gryf might be shorter than the Asgardian, but she meets Sif's eyes and challenges right back. "I want everyone safe, and there's a killer among us. I don't want anyone else to die!"
Trever: Trever gives Sif a LOOK. "the ritual is fine. I know what I did wrong. A week should be perfectly enough time to do it as long as I have space and a way to hook the TARDIS up to it." He doesn't like Sif challenging Gryf like that.
Jack: Jack smiles at Sif. "It's probably fine. Anything that you could do to help would be welcomed, if you can speed up the process. At least a working version can probably be found in that time." He again looks around at everyone, sweeps across everyone in the room. "There are still a few of you that I need to talk to, and it's not going to be the most pleasant, but please, if Harry or I come calling, we need to talk."
Doctor: [Doc gives Sif a look as well, but holds his tongue after Jack speaks.]
Gryf: Gryf sighs and leans back into the couch, closing her eyes. They didn't figure it out. Who had killed Jack. But... they had to do more stuff to figure that out, right? "Everyone's dismissed." She pauses. "I'll be watching. ...And if you give me that gesture again, Spider, I'll make it so you'll never take anything but a cold shower again. Ice cold."
Jeeves: "It is clear from the pattern of attack that the murderer would be somewhat savage. That two murders in such a small time frame indicates that this is someone brazen. I might even say narcissistic." He pauses, "This is someone who has been here for quite some time, as they clearly knew enough to cause the chaos and orchestrate the attacks. But...there is a touch of brazenness to the whole...I do not know that any of us are particularly brazen save for Mr. Jerusalem, who would *ahem* attack from the front, and with great verve and invective. And so, ladies and gentlemen, we are looking for someone not of great courage, but of great self-opinion, alas without any firm grounding in that opinion." Jeeves concludes;
Loki: Any mortal’s bed would be a bane here. {sneers at Spider}
Loki: I agree with Jack. He’s only a threat if there’s a worse one on board, and it seems there is. From what I’ve been hearing, we certainly cannot afford to lose someone such as himself. {she gestures to Bruce before crossing her arms once more}
Doctor: "Ah, I see." [Looks at Bruce, back to Jack, and back to Bruce again].
Ice cold."
