"Well it looks like there are a few crossed wires here and one that looks like it's going to need to be replaced later on. That one's more then likely causing the sparks."

As Chekov talked he explained what was going on showing him the various wires. He then untangled the ones that were crossed as well. He noted how well that the Klingon officer was behaving, which also helped put him more at ease. He also figuring sharing the information as well would help smooth things over.

"I can replace this wire for you now, or I can do this after you get the tasks you were hoping to accomplish completed. If you could satisfy my own curiosity as well, I would like to know more about your story."
